I hurt my hamstring during baseball season(April) and I continued to play... on July 10 baseball ended.. around July 22 I realized I have a huge hard ball where I hurt the hamstring(it only sticks out when I flex it). It doesn't hurt at all it's just kind of scary... does this sound like a hematoma? Does anyone know what I could do to fix it other than surgery?

After suffering with a groin hernia for four years, my husband had it repaired and one teste removed. He now has a haematoma the size of a large grapefruit beside his other teste. His penis points outwards making urination difficult if not impossible to control.

And they say it will go away eventually. The lump is hanging like a bull's undercarriage and is very painful. Doctor's response - nothing can be done.

I must be lucky that mine at least is not causing any pain right now. This sounds like my story.

Hello..

I've had a accident on my workplace 3 weeks ago..
I got a massive blow to my lower back.. went into chok right after and got picked up by an ambulance.. They took me to the ER and got my back scanned.. Theres was nothing broken.. About 1 hour after it began to swell... I was in ALOT of pain and it just got bigger and bigger..

now 3 weeks later and 15 doctors have seen my back and they will do nothing.. It continues to grow . last monday it was 6x9 cm bump and on friday it was 9x14 cm.. Doctors wont do anything about it.. The Pain was decreased after 2 weeks of severe pain coulnt sit or lay in bed.. All i could do was standing up.. but now the pain is increasing. But not the same pain its like its sore..

Should i demand a drainage? or what are my options..

Here are some pictures.. these are 1 week after the trauma and almost all color has gone and only the lump is left..

Went to ER today, no results. They did a venous Doppler to rule out clots, that was good. The hematoma measures three and a half inches by the same. The blood pool has hardened so much that an extraction of blood is impossible. I took a fall over two months ago, and I'm in such agony. Don't know how much more I can take. Have used ice on it since it happened, but even the weight of the cold pack is excruciating. Looks like we're all in the same boat!

I can recommend you to try intravenous light therapy, there is much info about it in the web. Maybe you will find other centres where it is practised.

I suggest plastic surgery as that was who has been dealing with me after I got knocked down by car.

I know its been a year since your post, but did they surgically take it out? Did you get relief? I had Piriformis Muscle release surgery in Feb 2017. I developed a hematoma that was 8"x 5". they said it would dissolve. but I have had this achy pain in my Glute for almost 8 months. They keep telling me its normal to have this pain, but I think the hematoma is still there or it caused some kind of damage. I am going to demand an MRI.

I had a bike accident 8 days and developed a hematoma on my left thigh. It was agony to walk and I'm currently travelling South America. I have been to the hospital every day for the last 6 days and still have a drain in my leg. They drained 100mx100mx10m from my leg but it's still constantly leaking fluid. Will they keep the drain in until all the liquid has stopped leaking? They keep prodding and squeezing at the cut they made and it's absolute agony especially when they syringe alcohol and iodine into the wound. Thanks.

20 years ago, as a teenager, I had quite a big a bike accident. I developed what I know now a hematoma on my right shin size of an egg. I didn't go to the doctor, although in the hindsight I definitely should have done. It was hurting for few years, then I only saw a lump. I "learned to live with it". 3 years ago I had medical procedure which involved tumescent liposuction and it was removed then - added bonus. So to all of you who still have it after years, maybe liposuction is a way to get rid of it once it calcifies.

ice is apparently only good for the first 48h. Then worm compresses in order to prevent hardening.

I was in a boat accident in Feb 2017. I still have a lump on my leg. I was told it would re absorb but it has not. It is ugly. I hate it too that I cannot wear a bathing suit without people looking and it is my vanity that affects my self confidence and jI am terrified to ever go boating again. I have been told to see an orthopedic as the hematoma is at the base of my rear and right thigh ..good luck

I was told it is dangerous to surgically remove a hematoma, it is better to wait and it will gradually be absorbed by the body, but I still have mine in the right lower abdomen and I am black and blue on the front of both legs almost down to my knees, 6 months after having stents put in my legs and the surgeon inadvertently nicking an artery. I had to have two blood transfusions at the time of the operation and spent three days in hospital
