Well, did not mean for this to be a running dialog, but am hoping if I occupy my mind I can pass some more time....
The Kratom lasted for about 6 hours, really like 5.5, I waited but by hour six the spasms were back, the craving, and the RLS...my wonderful wife tried giving me a rub down to help ease it, but the sweats came back as well, and then the pain sensations too, I took another Kratom, and within 15 min it started helping. I am just praying I can get some sleep tonight.... Synchronicity getting in on the act tonight as well, I flipped on the radio to listen to some music, and what comes on? A group I have not heard of before, they are called the Alabama Shakes, the song, "Hold On" I swear this is not just a coincidence, seems like I am getting a message, at least I will take it that way..."you got to Hold On...yeah, you got to hold on" Amen sister, Bless your heart. peace and love folks, hope as well...

well, I managed to get about 6 hours of sleep last night, which is amazing for day 3, i do have to say the Kratom has seemed to really make a difference, it really helps the shakes and RLS and the sweats, the pain was helped too, at least the heightened sensations were mitigated. I am still in a daze, weak, but overall not too bad.
Still listening to the Alabama Shakes, their album Boys and Girls is very positive, powerful and up lifting, just what is needed :-)
Take care.........

well day 4-5, got some real sleep last night, still got the shakes and am weak, but feel like I am really awake for the first time in a long time, got to watch out for the bounce now, anxiety might pop up, hell, WILL show up, just need to be aware of it and expect it....sharing this with my wife has helped, but she really does not know how hard this is, we got out of the house for a bit yesterday, that took everything I had, she wants to do it again today, but I don't think I will be able...staying strong..

Shakes, hows it going? Its my 30 some days without oxies (prescribed). How long were you using? What strength where you taking and how many times a day. Its cool that you got some sleep. Once you get a few days under your belt make yourself go out for a walk and keep walking each day no matter what. I have had to make myself walk every day. It is not easy, but you can do it. The fresh air will make you fell better and the walking is really helpful in getting you back on your feet. I would say more, but without knowing how long and how much you are taking, I am limited on sharing more.....Peace out. Joshua

Hi Joshua, thanks for replying.
I am hanging in there, today has been fairly good, physically speaking, mentally is a different story....but pushing thru.
I have been on opiates, mostly hydrocodone 7.5's and some oxy, on and off for almost ten years. The past 3 years was a steady diet, 4-6 daily(all prescribed, I am living with EDS)
Yeah I do plan on getting some physical activity, I know if I can get some exercise and some real sweat going, it will flush my system out even more, but for now, I am just happy to have made it this far :)
I ended my meds on Dilaudid, and I think that really made this time around 3x as worse. I stopped once before and made it about 2 months before I fell off, but that was just with hydro.
Man 30 days, that is great! How long were you on them?

I was on them for 8 years. So where right about the same. It took me about a week to start walking. I think your right about the Dilaudid. My Pin Dr. almost put me on methadone; but I went home and studied it before taking it (thank God). I have neck pain from a chiropractor who blew my neck out in 2004. I guess that's really the only major problem I have had in the last few days; is the pain has returned and I have tried motrin and other OTC pain relievers, and they are not really working and causing more problems. So, I guess I will just live with the pain......As my brain was getting to mushy from the oxies.....Mentally; I am still dealing with that too. But I would say in that last week as I have pushed myself to get out and walk more and try to do things around the house. I can finally see some glimmer of light. Not here every day, but write when you feel like it! Joshua

I hear you, I remember my first Pain doc saying oh, if you develop an addiction, we will deal with that if we have too....they do not think about the longer term effects some of this has. I am not blaming them, it is my responsibility to manage my self, but if they were more in tune with WD, they would not handout a lot of this stuff...
Actually trying to work today, at least I have the opportunity to work remotely, which I am taking advantage of....doing pretty well overall.
Peace

Day 6... a few good hours of sleep last night, mild RLS and pain, but a hot shower for 45 mins helped. (I had two Kratoms one around 9 am and one at 4 pm)
Woke up this morning and seem to be having some relapse, anxiety, shakes, can't concentrate, nausea, etc....I plan to keep spacing out the Kratom and just deal with it.
I have dropped a few pounds as well, I am trying to eat (just cannot do more than small portions) and stay hydrated. I bet we will not see this weight loss plan advertised on TV :-)
"Trying to loose weight, but just can't seem to do it? Want to lose those last few extra pounds, your cash and your sanity? Well have we got a program for you! All you have to do is take 4-6 pills a day, every day, for as little as one month. Then you just stop taking them! Its so simple anyone can do it! Then just twitch back and RLS, as you watch the pounds shake and melt away! As a special added bonus, at no charge to you, you get to scream at the walls, loose your sanity and not sleep for days on end! Act now, supplies are unlimited!"
yeah, ha..ha... man going to be a rough day.

No, I'll pass on the weight lossing program. You should have seen me twitch on the first week or so; I could have knocked someone out! For real. Not pretty. Do you do any work? Have you been out walking? Yep, I tried the Kratoms a few years back; don't do a thing. But I am glad it help you. Peace, Josh

Hey Joshua,
LOL, I hear you on the twitching, could hardly type today. the first couple of days my wife had to sleep in another room because of them and the RLS. Not sure what was going on today, I hope it's just the last of the stuff getting out of my system.
Yeah I work in the IT field, specifically with Voice over IP. Luckily this affords me the ability to work from home on occasions, which I have taken advantage of the past several days, but tomorrow will be the test as I have to go in, so hopefully I won't be sitting there hugging my self, sweating and shaking! But as far as they know I have a bad cold, so I should not have to worry...I don't really trust the Employee Assistance Programs, so I did not want them to know what I am going thru. I just got this job a few months ago, I was laid off last year, so want to protect it as much as I can.
I have not really exercise any, but I have been sitting out in the sun for the past couple of days, trying to sweat it out. As far as Kratom, I have heard that too, for some it does not seem to do anything for some people, I just wonder if it was a reliable source (real Kratom), there seems to be a lot of bunk on it out there, but I can say for me, this really stopped the worst of the symptoms cold, I don't think I would have made it this far. I lost my brother to addiction several years back, I can't help but wonder if this plant could not have helped him...he went thru several rehabs, and different therapies, came out addicted to more legal drugs than the illegal ones he was hooked on...well who knows, hopefully someone will do some studies on it and it can be of a benefit to those who need it.
Take care.

Hi Mr. Shakes, although we arent exactly the same as far as our habits, I was actually doing dope on a regular basis and for quite a while, amazing how doing something for fun ended up being physically dependant. I went to a rehab for 7 days and did a 4 day tapet with suboxen, 2 days in the begining cold turkey was ungodly hell. Sober day is 4-20-12, kinda sad how I used to celebrate that day by being trashed out my mind.....back to some advice, I have done my research and safe to say theres a lot of things you can do over the counter that is safe to a point and will help. For the insomnia and RLS you can use valerian root extract. This Is a herbal remedy that actually calms nerves down, and relaxes the muscles slightly. Immodium AD for the hot cold flashes and crappy feelings, coinsides with dextromethrophan, caugh syrup, very very helpful. I suggest getting just dextromethorphan only. Naproxen or ibuprofen can help moderate pain or at least it raises your pain tolerance to make it slightly better. Epsom salt mineral baths in hot water can greatly reduce stress and relieve muscle and joint pain. Im doing very well on just some of these things. I dont have any cravings and I can do a lot of things I wasnt expecting to do already. I found fishing to be beneficial, espeically cold water on my knees and ankles etc. hope some of this helps out. Good luck.

Well, i am still fighting. I was not ready for the anxiety and c**p, i know that too should get better, but trying to deal with it, WD, work, home, family...just too much. I went to my family doctor and let her know what I am doing, she started to offer me pain meds....skipping to the end of that animated conversation, i took a script of Cymbalta, hoping, this will level me out... will try to write more tomorrow.
Peace
