Well, I have to admit that these past few days were really frightening. I was very scared for my 6 year old girl. She had an episode of JDMS; luckily it went away fast with the help of medications. Still, she looked so fragile and weak, and that rash on her... Anyway, how common is this condition? Will there be any consequences?
Well, juvenile form of the dermatomyelositis is much more benign than the adult version. That is why with the help of the medications (steroids), the problem is usually solved within couple of days. There should not be any consequences and as far as I know, this condition attacks only once.
