how do you know if you have gall bladder infection ?

I know someone who has had Gallbladder infection - infection in the gallbladder is primarily due to gall stones - as long as the stone does not shift around, there is no pain. But when it shifts position, infection results and there is severe abdominal pain and vomitting. Such pain warrants hospitalization and antibiotic treatment/surgery
