It depends on what you are taking because all opiates have different half-lives. If your on methadone you need to wait much longer than if you are doing heroin. If you doing heroin or oxys I would wait at least 14 hours since your last dose. Although I have gotten away with taking subs 8 hours after my last dose, but that's cutting it really close. If I was you I would get some Kratom and use that to withdrawal instead, Then you don't need to worry about all that, plus it's cheaper and a natural approach. Something to look into. Good Luck!

Well I kind of feel the same about that sh*t. . . . I've asked Google several different ways on how many hours should I wait after taking my last opiate can I take suboxen..... and I feel so stressed out about this, and have anxiety even over trying to get a stright damn reply like
....8 to 12 hours but I have friends that had to wait up to 24. .
(I always go by how I feel, and I wait until I absolutely can't handle anymore withdrawal symptoms and then I test out a piece by piece standard about a half of a half then keep going more and more up to an 8 until I feel better...... and that has worked....but if you do not wait long enough..be prepared to be sicker then you could possibly imagine so if you think your bad now. Try taking that sh*t too early and you will regret that sh*t FoRsUrE.... LOL. .. anyways. I hope that helps anyone )

One last thing: Taking suboxone, and afterward taking a full opiate agonist e.g. heroin WILL NOT MAKE YOU SICK. The sub taken first will likely blunt the effects of the opiate taken afterward. This is a common misconception. You become sick taking suboxone incorrectly when you still have full opiate agonists active on those lovely mu receptors and dose with sub. Suboxone's affinity for those receptors outclasses everything else, it will essentially rip out the full agonist from your receptors and let itself bind instead. Sometimes this results in not much discomfort, sometimes it can be a 6+ hour ordeal, it all depends on the level of active agonists versus the dosage of sub. If you don't feel the sub come on in an hour or two after getting sick, if you do, take more.
This is just based on my own experience with opiates and suboxone(buprenorphine) so please remember that every individual is unique in their body chemistry and many many more things. The best course of action if you are not sure what to do or how long to wait in my opinion would be to consult a doctor. Preferably one that deals with substance abuse.
All my love to those with opiate addictions and struggling, you're not alone. There are lights at the end of this tunnel, it's not always easy to traverse through, in fact it never is, but it can be done and there is help out there more and more now. Keep calm and carry on, friends.
