This question is specifically for people that have been on methadone for a long time and not necessarily on a large dose. I'm wondering because I attempted to kick last summer. I made it for 4months, I took vitamins, kept hydrated ate healthy and attempted to exercise. Even doing everything that I had read that was recommended, my muscles atrophed, and I never felt like there was not an elephant sitting on top of me. I have been on Methadone, 10mg a day, for 6years, other than the 4months last summer that I was clean. At that time I took absolutely no narcotics or any drugs other than advil. I wondering if any people have gotten off methadone after being on it for a long time and been able to become PHYSICALLY PRODUCTIVE. I went back on Methadone because I got into such bad shape physically, off of it. Plus, I am not inheritently rich and had to MOVE/WORK and I was unable to do this off of methadone. :-(
Hi there, I have not been on methadone but I have talked to a lot of people who have done it and you usually have to wait for six months before you've fully kicked the habit, sadly. Are you able to taper off again? I think it might be a good idea if you can. Keep us posted okay?
