Hi , I’m just wondering how long can menopause period last?

I’m not quite sure what do you mean by this question but I will assume that you mean on menopausal climax years. I hope I got it right… Well, menopausal climax years include the year or two before and a year or more after your very last menstruation. So, when you sum that, you get a number of at least 3 years but in most cases it takes 5 years. Of course, in some cases it can take much more time…it is very individual!!! Also, in the case you whish to know, average age when all that starts is 50. Of course, some women come to their menopausal climax as early as in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, but those cases are really rare. That is why a menopausal climax before the age of 40 is considered "premature."

I hope this answer helps.

I have been having the exact same question for years!!! For about 5 years I would have my period about once every 11 months. Then I took care of my Mom when she was dieing, and after she died, I started to have my period again, every 25 days for 7 months. Then it stopped. Now after over a year of not having a period, I woke up and found I have my "monthly" again. So this is why I was doing a search on how long menstruation lasts!
