Do not take hot baths. Don not swim or submerge the incision sight for 5 to 7 days

I had a no scalpel vas 12 days ago. Procedure itself was easy. Virtually no pain and it took 10-15 minutes. First 12 hours of recovery were painful if I moved. Kicked in the balls feeling. Within 24 hours it was a lot better. I could walk around with jockstrap and move gingerly. I was back at my desk job on day 4. No real pain, just some discomfort. My rapid recovery plateaued and I got significant enlargement of both testicles. Scrotum also swelled. Called the doc and he said it should resolve in a week or so. The swelling is still there but seems to be slooowly receding. Has anyone else has testicular swelling? They are sensitive but don’t hurt too much as long as I wear the jock strap. Also, I never had any bruising. Had intercourse at 6, 8, and 11 days and it is getting better because I don’t have to be so careful not to hit too hard. So that’s where I am at 12 days. No real pain, but still some stubborn swelling and a little discomfort once in a while.

I had swelling and pain for about 2 weeks. Went to work, wore tight underwear but had discomfort while walking. I decided to take ibuprofen which helps with pain and swelling. After 2-3 days of taking them I was pain free. Swelling is gone and I am almost back to complete normalcy.

Thanks for the reply. I went to see the doctor and that is exactly what he suggested- ibuprofen. So I have started to take it a couple times a day and it does help. I only have very minor aches here and there, just annoying more than anything. I am now three weeks out. Testicles and the cord that attaches them are still sensitive. The doctor said I am having a very normal recovery, even with the swelling that I had. He said some people’s bodies have a more hypersensitive reaction to the trauma of the surgery. Not right away but a few days later. Then it just takes a while to settle down. Weeks or even months. Interesting though, that the pamphlet he gave me before the procedure didn’t mention any of that, lol. The only real complaint I have right now is that my testicles hang lower and heavier. I think it is because the scrotum was stretched from the swelling. The doctor says that will eventually return to normal. I hope he is right because it’s a little annoying.

Yea, it's funny you get all of this information AFTER the procedure and not before. My doctor said the same. I'd be sore for a few days and then it would go away. The discomfort was very annoying but it does go away. Good luck and I hope things get back to normal for you soon.

Yes, I am also experiencing this. I waited the week to begin exercise, moderate to heavy weight lifting. Smith machine incline press 6 sets of about 8. Then did some yard work, I was feeling pretty good yesterday, but now feel almost as bad as I did day 2 or 3, minus the incision pain. Definitely wait longer than they say. I’m a 37 year old fairly active PE teacher. It will feel like you are ready to go back to lifting, it’s almost impossible not to but wait an extra week. I wish I did.

This is Ishmael from Malawi (Central Africa).I had vasy on 20th April 2018. The op was completed within 45 min. The pain was not that bad. The scrotum thing pained the next 10 days and forced my walking step to change. However, by 14th day, the pain subsided. I feel good. I have made love three times and the wound has healed. I will live a happy man the rest of my life.

I think the op was conducted by less experienced. However, go and meet your doctor frequently. Sorry for the regret.

So I am now 2 and a half months out and haven’t really improved since 5 or 6 weeks out. Still off and on discomfort, weird sensations, and swelling if I do any activity, like walking. When is everything supposed to be back to normal? I’m getting worried because I stopped improving and might have even gone backwards.

60 hours post op. Dude, if you can’t handle this (well done) then you have issues. Easy peezy. I had two beers and the Valium they prescribed. Felt the needle for a half a second. Day 1 was the worst. Just lay there. By Day 2 I was back at work. Maybe a couple twinges in the lower belly. Not ready to go jogging but guys, this sh*t is simple. Save your wife. Get this done.
