I had bunion surgery on my left foot exactly 1 week ago. The first few days I was kinda numb, I think, and had a false assurance that I could do more than I should have. I was given a much-deserved scolding by my doctor at my 5-day post-op visit. Even though my x-rays looked almost identical, I had the surgery only on my left foot as my right foot wasn't too painful. But now, as I'm being a good patient, staying off my foot and keeping it elevated almost constantly, I'm thinking of just getting my right foot done asap to minimize my overall recovery time. Plus, my medical insurance deductible has been met so the surgery is much cheaper now than if I wait 6-12 months. So, has anyone ever had bunionectomies close together, and if so, how close? I'm thinking I want it done in a few weeks! Or is that just crazy talk? Btw, I'm in a walking boot and am able to bear a little weight on it so far, certainly not much and not without the boot.
