My 25 yr old son has a temp of 95.7. He feels cold to me, hot to himself. My daughters and I often have temps in the 95-97 range. If we have 98.6, we are SICK. Do guys do this also? He says he feels sick.
My body temp can be as low as 94.6F.
I do suffer from thyroid disease. I was told that most people with thyroid disease have low body temps.
I'm not saying this is your sons case but it may not hurt to have a simple blood test to see if he has thyroid disease or something else going on.
I know several people that do not have a normal 98.6 temp and they are perfectly well but I'd still get him checked just to be safe.

Even though many people don't see it that way, like ksf said - low body temperature (below 98 that is considered normal), can be a sign of potentially serious conditions and even more so considering that you say that your daughters and yourself, too have lower body temperatures. Similar to thyroid disorders that ksf mentioned, there are also other conditions that are known to run in families that have low body temperature as a sign. And even though it's not that common, diabetes is one of those conditions. So, what exactly do you mean when you say you feel sick? How does it feels exactly? I think that your son definitely will need a doctor's checkup. Hope everything will be fine, after all, not all people are the same and these measures are only averages - some of us are different.
