How much water to drink?

Doctors usually recommend a dose depending on body weight and of course the reasons why diuretics were prescribed - so, if a normal person is required to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water on a normal day, while on diuretics you may need a little more. With a heart patient or a person who has lot of water retention, the amount of water intake is restricted and informed by the doctor.
