I am going to have this procedure done in two months, I never had heard of it before, doc didn't explain alot said "It will hurt 24 hours after the procedure, a brownish discharge for a few weeks 2-3, No more cramping or periods." Is all this true, I had my tubes tide (after 2 kids), Tumor in Uterus, and 8-10 days periods (these last 4 months), Umbeilvable Cramping Now. Does anyone Not Recommend this procedure and why? And yes I am that lucky only "2% of people get this (side-affects) on Everything. I wanted just to get my Uterus Removed. Should I Do that Instead? %-) %-) %-)

I had my ablasion done the end of august and am still experiencing discharge or various colors and thickness.....I'm not sure what was worse, bleeding or this gross amount of discharge constantly. Will it ever end? Yes it is very painful the rest of the day after the ablasion, then all of a sudden it doesn't hurt anymore. I have not had a period since August, but the constant dicharge is ver annoying. I hope it stops at some point soon!

I had mine done just this past Monday morning 10/5/09 ilong with a D&C and Im having all of the above mentioned symptoms in addition to what I can only describe as heavy/tired stomach. The only time I feel like myself is when Im in the bed lying down. Riding or driving in the car make me feel slightly fatigued and a tiny bit labored in my breathing but in a weird way. Im not gasping for air or anything like that but its enough that I feel myself paying attention to how Im breathing. Originally my doctor told me I was only going to be sedated. When I got there (surgical center) the anesthesiologist tells me Im going to be fully put to sleep and intubated. Her exact words were,"Trust me, you dont want to be awake for the ablation!" Im very interestd in keeping in touch (so to speak) with any of you about the ongoing and hopefully the end of these ablation effects.

I had endometrial ablation on 30 Oct 09. I had very intense cramps that extended to my back and thighs. The bleeding went on for about 4 days. It started out as bright red blood then tappered off to a light pink discharge. Two days later I got my period, which was not due to arrive until 13 Nov 09. This lasted for about 5 days ranging from steady flow to spotting. But with no cramps. However, my major complaint is I am still spotting. Today is the 14th of November and I am noticing that my spotting is increasing to more of a discharge. I have had to wear pads/liners since the procedure and I am at the point wondering when and if the spotting is going to stop. A little frustrating.

I had an ablation done may 31 2011. I am still having discharge but this is normal for 6 to 8 weeks after the procedure.

The ablated tissue will scab over and the scab from the burn like any other scab needs to fall off so the tissue can heal.

about 8 weeks after you should be fine . It takes up to 6 months to see the bleeding pattern. Some have NO periods after

and some have lighter periods.

Good Luck :)

I do recommend this procedure it is a whole lot less painful that a hysterectomy. It lowered my periods to light to zero although i do still get symptoms they are 10 times less painful than before also no hormone therapy which is a plus

The discharge is normal and will continue to appear instead of getting your normal period you will have the discharge which in my opinion is better than bleeding to death
