I developed Hypothyroidism after my daughter was born. I've taken my levothyroxine faithfully everyday since the diagnosis for it 5 months after she was born. Now, it's been acting up really badly. I've packed on 30 lbs in the last 6 months, am depressed and constantly exhausted. I don't have insurance to go see a doctor and planned parenthood said they can't do anything for it and that I'd have to go see said doctor for it.
My question is, is there any supplements or anything that you ladies would recommend to help curb this and potentially help to burn some weight? (I haven't lost a pound even though I exercise every other day.)

I am sorry to hear you do not have money to go to the doctor because I think that is exactly where you need to go. In the area I live there are clinics that treat people that make under a certain income (my daughter works at one this is how I know they are out there). Have you checked into that? Maybe the planned parent orginization can give you some info on them if they are available to you. Or maybe call some doctors office and ask...many doctors volunteer their time.
I went from hyperthyroid to hypothyroid. I also have the weight problem. The only way I can lose weight is to eat one small meal a day and never stop moving (that is not healthy!!!).
I was told by an endroconoligists (spelling) that depression goes with thyroid disorders. That was over 15yrs ago. I take an anti-depressant daily. I'll never forget when that medication started working! I remember waking up on a sunny day and the sun was shining brighter! I was always angry too and the anti-depressant helped with that.
There are supplements out there but I can't even take vitamins, though I wish I could, so I can't help you there. You may want to surf the internet to find your answer. I would go to a vitamin store site. They usually describe what the vitamins they are selling are good for. Though many disagree with me....precede with caution on the herbs. I like vitamins but feel herbs are the same as meds and they could interfere with your other meds.
