Hi, my name is Wendi. I'm a 33 year old mother of 2 small children and an ovarian cancer survivor.......9 years on 3/28!!
I recently (March 4 2010) underwent a hysterectomy and the pathology report came back stating the I had endometriosis. I was cut longways on my abdomen and had 20 staples. I'm wondering how long is normal to take the pain killers I was prescribed. I'm still feeling a lot of discomfort and pain in my abdomen and going to the restroom is just hell for me. The pain I feel in my bladder when I go is unbearable. I can stand for only short periods of time and can not sit straight up at all. Is this normal? I want to call my doctor for a refill of my pain medication but I don't want him to think I'm exaggerating. Is this normal to still feel the need for medication after almost 3 weeks of a hysterectomy?
Thanks,
Wendi
