I just really wanna know what to think about this all.. im 16 in chicago IL and i have been taking these free birthcontrol pills from this free teen health center clinic. Ive been taking the pills for 3 months now. But for the past couple of weeks i havent been very responsible. they say you are supposed to take the pills every day around the same time for it to correctly work. ive been taking it for the past couple weeks at different times... i havent missed a day, just took them around an hour later than supposed to. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend thinking my birthcontrol will still be working. Yesterday was also the last day of my period. i wanted to know or get advice on what to be concerned about... should i be concerned that im pregnant? should i just wait till my next period to do anything??? PLEASE HELLLLLP IM COMPLETELY CLUELESS ):

not always birth control protects you from getting pregnant its still a chance u can get pregnant, that is y u should use condoms also . my advice is take a pregnancy test or go to your doctor  to make sure your not, and pay attention and see if you see any signs of pregnancy during the time you are doing to go see the doctor(now til seeing the doctor) .if you take a pregnancy test and it come back positive then you talk to your parents and your boyfriend about you being pregnant but still go to the doctor just to make sure and  dont be scared every teen go through this, when this happen. but if your not you still have to tell your parents. you might get in trouble. but it will make you feel better. also look up info on sex and pregnancy it will help.

Hi Ashby,

If you're taking the pills as directed then daily birth control is very reliable. Ideally, you will want to take it at the same time each day. An hour or two early or late is insignificant.

Work on becoming more consistent with them.

If you are having a "normal" period then it is unlikely you are pregnant. You can not have a period if you are pregnant but there can be some bleeding.

Hope it helps.

Each time I have sex, I make sure I use a menstrogen contraception. But this time I have been expecting my period but it is late. What can I use so my cycle will come?
