I feel lump in throat when swallow. What this could be??

My throat feels like flem is stuck right under my chin. I keep hacking and this has been going on over a year.

hey i have the same feeling! makes me want to keep swallowing! scares me. sometimes when i eat certain things it is as if it doesnt go all the way down! docs cost too much and iam scared.

It's called globulus From acid reflux. It can go away with a diet that decreases reflux. It can also get worse with continued irritation from reflux. I had silent reflux and got to where all I could eat for 2 months was chicken broth.

Hi. I solved my "lump" or "crunch" in throat feeling today. I was searching for ways to relive jaw tension and stumled on a site about swallowing. Turns out I swallow incorrectly and have been for 30years altough the "crunch" feeling didnt start to become annoying until last year or so. So if dont know if your doing it correctly do a google, youtube search on swallowing and Tounge Thrust therapy. Hope this helps someone.

I am a twenty year old female who has been smoking for around 8 years ( I know it's a damn shame ) so I'm a lot scared ! I have had a feeling of a lump in my throat almost near my collar bone. When I sleep it doesn't bother me but out of no where it will just feel as though I need to swallow repeatedly . At no point does it hurt. when i lay down i seem to feel it much more than usual. no clicking as alot of u stated though. I'm kind of pessimistic about these sort of things expecting the worse. Hi for the past 14 wks I've had the sensation of a lump stuck in my throat which I have to keep swallowing. Now after visiting an immunologist he's told me it's reflux oesophigitis and I'm taking Gertac tablets which have worked great . I also find that gaviscon helps to numb this awful sensation. Hope this is of some help

I started with this problem of feeling that something on the right hand side of my throat is lumpy a while ago - and I keep getting an urge to - and it sort of clicks when i do.
Lately i have been using my laptop on my knee on the sofa while working for several hours every day - which means that my head is constantly dropped down as I am looking downwards all the time.
It has suddenly occurred to me - as i was reading this page with my head dropped down as usual - that this might be causing this problem!
I hope that is what it is - as i am usually in good health with no problems -
So I will try sitting up straight at a table and see if it helps........Worth a try.
Hope this might help someone else with the same problem to see if they are doing something similar.

Hi Iam 27 femail an Iam suffering with the same feeling lump in my throat so annoying an want it to go, keep swallowing to see if it goes, sometimes also when I swallow I have a pain in my ear on the same side as my throat. I was also on on antibiotics just over a week ago due to having a chest infection an viral infection an now this. Iam just thinking it's still viral.

90% of u re suffering from an active or silent acide reflux problem which inflames the chords in ur throat or burns them. That is why u feel u have something in the back of ur throat when u swallow.

The feeling in throat is that sometimes I feel like I am choking and my voice changes until I can rub the throat and get it back to normal. No sore throat, no illness at all, this does not happen all the time and not every day. It is annoying, I can be talking normal one minute and then next I sound like an alto with something stuck in their throat. Any replys......
