I use to get those. They look like small corn kernels and stink to high heaven. I removed them with the head of a hair pin that I cleaned with hydrogen peroxide. I sometimes saw a little blood on them after they were removed. Still don't know what the are, but I don't have them anymore. I gargle with salt water and vinegar. May have to do with ph balance.

I get small chunks on my right tonsil all the time and although I don't have an answer, have some interesting findings related to them.  The doctor gave me an atibiotic and for a few months after, they were gone.  Bad news was I ended up getting diverticulitus because the antibiotic killed all the good bacteria in my digestive system.  Not fun...which led to a wonderful colonoscopy.  However, they did find two polyps, so maybe I was lucky?? Also, I was informed drinking more water helps keep digestive tract working better and when we get sick, what are we supposed drink...more water.  So the chunks may form from being a little dehydrated.

I also notice when I feel like I'm getting sick, these white chunks form but if I get them off right away, I don't seem to get sick.  Twice when I had a bad sore throat, I had large chunks on my left tonsil.  Interestling enough, as soon as these are removed, I feel like I have lots of drainage in my throat, so it makes me wonder if these things block our sinuses.  Or, maybe sinus pressure/drainage pushes these white things out??  If they stay stuck in our tonsils, maybe bacteria forms more rapidly causing tonsilitus, making us sick.

The white chunks remind me of placque on my teeth if I don't brush good.  When looking up what placque is, I found this:  Plaque develops when foods containing carbohydrates (sugars and starches), such as milk, soft drinks, raisins, cakes, or candy are frequently left on the teeth. Sugars and dairy sometimes are said to cause yeast infections, so heck, maybe they are some sort of yeast infection.

All I know is they are gross and smell.  Seem like there should be a simple fix in this day and age!

U are so right. I believe they are a plaque build up. It gets caught under flaps of skin and grows I personally have a deep pocket on one side. I use disinfected dental tools and bright lightening gargle after removal. Dehydration and sinuses are defiantly part of the equation. They hide and grow and cause horror I'd halitosis. I believe we all get them at some point in our lives but swallow them and never notice. Mine got so big they would choke me and make me sick. Here's the Grose part plaque is bacteria poop! No wonder they stink. I hope this helps someone. PS find a dentist that will sell you a real tool real clean don't use those nickel-plated pieces of junk that might hurt you!
