I am in shock! I got a call form hospital today… I got tested for HIV… and I am positive. I really didn’t expect this to happen. I got it tested for no reason, just to be sure… and I am sure now… It would be better if I didn’t get it in the first place!!! Who gave me this?? This question is non stop in my mind!!! When will I die?? I am going crazy!!!

I am very sorry to hear that. My sister has it too. I really hope you have a supportive family and friends who will help you in this situation.
Do you already have any symptoms? I guess not…
My sister is still “healthy”, although she has HIV for more than 4 years. We all are doing our best to help her. We are visiting this support group and this is the most helpful thing ever. You have no idea, what a group of people, struggling with the same lethal disease, can do for your mental health. She was depressed because of that and she was asking herself the same questions as you do. Since we are in support group, I can say, she is 100 % different. She began to appreciate every day. And we all learning some things form her and the support group. We live in NY, so here are many groups available, but if you live in a smaller town, there are also online groups.
Since my sister is aware of this, the whole family has changed. We are much more connected, I can even say than this disease brought us together. Hmmm…how sad is this, that you learn to appreciate life and start to express love to people, when you know, you have few months, years left…
