OK. Left breast stopped growing i think. Right one is actually catching up! Hairs are a nightmare. I started plucking them out no matter what! War to hairs!

Hi. Keeping posted. Don't know who wrote last month but wasn't me. For 2 months now there has been no change in my breasts they seem to have stopped growing. Left breast remains bigger, areola larger, but only to a small extent. Both areolas are puffy but my nipples are frequently hard which makes disappear the puffiness. Hairs: nightmare, but not much more than before. I counted this morning 43 between my breasts, growing towards the left side, 81 around my right areola and 112 around my left one. If there's any one out there with a sensible advice please write.

Sorry Cindy, my reply won't beof great help. Me and my sister have inherited your condition. Not for the breast size (our breasts are symmetrical, but quite small but with a larger than average areola), but for the hair. we have a complete circle of dark and rather large hairs around areola, and also some hair between our breasts which. I'm the hairiest one and on my left breast the hair in the middle and the circle are more or less joining. It grew at the end of puberty. We have darker skin and are quite hairy also on other parts of our body (joining eyebrows, armpits, arms, legs, feet and pubic hair and also navel like you). We tried to pluck them out but it's hopeless so theyre there to stay. My sister is 27 and she started losing hair on her head 2 years ago. I'm only 21 and I hope I won't have the same problem also. A doctor told her that both (excessive body hair and hairloss) are linked, but it's not necessarily so. Our mum is also very hairy and she only lost her hair after pregnancy.

Cindy, what is the situation in your family? My father's sister has a lot of body hair and so has their daughter. She's 7 years older than me so when it happened to her I was not really aware of it but I realized it later when I also started growing body hair and we talked a lot about it. Unlike you I was an early bloomer and started having pubic hair when I was 7 or 8 but it was only a few hairs above the vagina and it stopped. Then it resumed during the summer before I entered Middle School, pubic hair, armpits, legs, In 6th grade I had the first hairs growing on my breasts, but once again there was a pause and it was only in High School that I caught up with my cousin. My daughter is 13 and she has also a few hairs growing on her breasts. So look at your family and tell me. By the way: none of us had any problems with hairloss before pregnancy, so don't be scared off by that.

Yes my mum is hairy but not on the chest! My sister is 2 years younger and she started growing nipple hair also but so far she's fine with it it's only 3 short hairs on her left breast. So it may be family but how does it help me? And what's all this stuff about hairloss with pregnancy?

No, of course, it won't help you, except to understand that you are meant to be that way. Is your sister ugly? Would you think she will turn out being ugly just because of a few hairs? See?! Plus, I can't believe you're the only one in all your friends. What about the girls you wrote about? What about the other girls in your class? Are thy more perfect because they might not have nipple hair? As for the hairloss which comes with pregnancy it's not related to the amount of your body hair, it's only that some women lose some hair after pregnancy but most of it grows back. My aunt still has a lot of hair and she's over 70. I lost some but a decent amount grew back. My cousin has more problems but she has had 3 children and has entered menopause for some years.

Yes of course my sis is not ugly because of the hair but her breasts will be! She's growing more hairs and she's bravely plucking it all out. As to the other girl in my class who started growing hairs, actually there are 2 now, the first has only a small amount of hairs which she shaves and the other has also far less hairs than I and she's unhappy too. As for me, update: 97 hairs on the right, growing in a circle around the areola, 140 on the left, growing towards the middle of my chest, 61 in between the breasts, still growing to the left as if going to join with the hairs around the areola. Maybe I will end up with the left breast covered with hairs. Also a trail from my navel towards my pubic hair.

Hi Cindy. I'm from a hairy line of women, my mother, my cousins on her side, my daughter, my sister and myself, we have all breast hair, but nothing like you describe. It's a circle of hair around the areolas and a treasure trail. The hairs are mostly long, but the circle is not very thick. I for example have (I counted them just now) 17 hairs around the right areola and 24 around the left oneon each side. I have very small areolas, less than 1'', and the hair go all around, but it's really not dramatic. The hairiest may turn out to be my daughter, she's 15, her areolas are like mine, but she's got already as many hairs as I do and most of all she's got a line of hairs going from the breasts down to the navel and from there to the pubic hair.

Hi I'm 17 and I have also hairy nipples. It started 2 years ago at the end of my puberty. I think it's all finished now, at least nothing grows anymore. I've got more or less the same amount of hairs on both breasts, 50-60 on each side, they form a circle around the areola but there are more below the areola and on the inner side. They are quite long (+/- 2 inches) and strong. I tried to pluck them out but it hurts and I got red bumps so I left them. I always liked being topless during puberty when my breasts grew but with the hairs I didn't dare to go topless but I began again a few weeks ago and the hair doesn't seem to be a problem for most people. My mum has some also but only a few and my cousin has also a full circle around the areolas.

For me too the first hairs around my areolas was the end of my topless days. I never had a problem with my body changing, with the budding nipple, then the growing breasts and the areola which became larger. I was often topless before when at home or playing with friends in the garden or at the beach and I went on living just like that but last year when the hairs arrived I stopped. I dont have as many as you but all the same. But I regret the topless days and I would like to show my breasts again.

Only an update, also for myself: keeping this as a sort of diary. So this morning I counted 112 hairs on my right breast, circling around the areola, plus 12 hairs outside of the circle towards the middle of my chest; on my left breast the circle is thicker plus there are more hairs towards the middle, joining the circle and also joining the hairs in between my breasts; I divided them up like this: 132 around the areola, 75 on the breast towards the middle of the chest, 120 on the chest between the breasts and 86 from the navel down to my public hair. Of course I am counting also the hairs which are new and not quite so long as far, but they have grown massively in the last months. My breasts remain unchanged I believe, my areolas are still puffy when soft but my nipples are hard nearly all the time. My sister has a complete circle of hairs around both areolas, but not many hairs so fair (15 left, 12 right) and most of them short. The other girl in my class not shaving grows thick circles similar to mine around her areolas but nowhere else.

Hi Cindy. I read all your messages. You must be 16 now and hopefully for you the thing will stop soon. I grew a few hairs around my areolas, 15-20 on each side at the end of my puberty. They go all around, are dark and quite long but I decided to let them stay and still have them. But I wish you luck and strength with your condition.

Hi cindy, I am 18 with the same problem as you, I have around 120 hairs around each areoles, hair in the middle of my chest with a light trail leading to my navel, and then very thick hairs downwards, too many to count. I have a hormonal imbalance (higher testosterone than I should) this also causes me to have acne, but not everyone will have acne with imbalanced hormones. Different birth control pills can help to regulate and balance your hormones which can slow or even get rid of excessive hair completely. I think you should do a little bit of research into unbalanced hormones because it seems that, that might be your problem like me.
