I had microodicsetomy 3 weeks ago. From then on I am in hell. I have very strong pains. Even worse than before. Everything is swollen. Doctor says that it is due to a post op pains. Nothing unusual, he says. I am afraid that it is reherniated, in spite of me being careful. I don’t walk more than a mile per day. I don’t lift anything heavy. Has anyone had this kind of operation and can you tell me if this is normal?

Hi!
I must say that this kind of pains is normal for a three months period in some cases even more. It took me a year to heal completely. The most important thing is that you thing is that you don’t over do it. Disc being reherniated, as a result over doing it, leads to another surgery. This was me experience. However, I must say that the best way to maybe sure in your state is to do another MRI. Visit your surgeon and tell him about your pains. You don’t want to go trough another surgery. In some cases, and I don’t want to scare you, patients have no option for surgery and they suffer from agonizing pain.
Good luck.
