Chlazion and Stye both things are different stye always burst and preasent in between or very close to the roots of eye lids if your stye is present near eye lid not in hair root then it is a chlazion . chlazion simply present on skin and always disappear after a month .

if washing eye with warm water or hot compress is not working so may be your blood composition is not good ....................

Actually it all happens with me................. almost one year ago ...................
i came to know by my doctor that my blood have very low levels of potassium
when my treatment ends styes disappear .

Most of us don't know about blood composition . if styes are not disappearing so we must consult with our doctor (eye specialist)

Hi, I've previously had a stye in my upper eyelid, it's not a huge one but it was noticeable through the skin and was quite a hard bump. I had it for about 4 years, I eventually got used to it and adapted to its movement and etc in my eyelid. I may be lucky or it was some special fruit I ate but one random month I noticed it got smaller and smaller, now it's completely gone. For me it says that time can heal and keeping a healthy diet and plenty of sleep may do the trick. I never saw a doctor for it, only when it was first noticed, he just said apply warm water and etc. Sometimes it comes back but goes away within a few weeks as it's painful also! My point is, I hope the same happens to all of you and maybe don't rely on medication because nature may be the key to healing here :), unless its way to inflamed, that may require good medicine. Take care now!

I have had my style since May of last year and I keep getting told to put the compress on but I always thought it would just go away on its own but it didn't, I went to the eye doctor and they said I have only two choices. I can either get this heat treatment done to it or take a pill that can have some bad side effects... I don't know what to do and I'm the type that is terrified of medical stuff and etc. so if you can help me please do so!

Hi, Have you tried salt water solution? Basically you boil hot water and put it into a clean bowl. Add salt and mix with a clean spoon. Wait for the water to cool down a bit. What you are going to do is put your eye in the salt water solution. It will be a little hard at first because your eye has to adjust to the salt. Maybe start off by putting in 1 teaspoon of salt and slowly increase it. When you are soaking your eye in the salt water solution try moving your eye around so the salt really gets in there. I would soak it for about 5 to 10 minutes. You are going to have to soak your eye several times in a day.

I have had my stye for a long time now too, and it has gotten smaller over the years. Recently I went to the eye doctor for an eye exam, and he said that you can either get it surgically removed or just leave it. He said if I just leave it, it will go away over time, it might take awhile but it will go away. The last thing he said is that the way to get rid of styes is to when you put a hot compress on it is to massage it so it loosens the fluid in it and so it will not cause a permanent stye

HEY,

I suppose I am a few years too late on this post. I use to have alot of styes back when I was a kid (age 13-15) and usualy they would go away eventually after tolerable discomfort and pain. However I had this one stye that stayed for more than 6 months and became a hard lump in the left corner of my eye.  Anyways went to a doctor and they performed a minor surgery to remove it which in itself was not a very pleasant process if my memory serves me well). The lump went and its all good now. Anyways hope that is helpfull.... But usually a hot compress is the order of the day

same boat here! Its been two years and my stye is ENORMOUS. it makes my eyelid droop and its making my vision blurry. It hurts to touch the area around my eye and nothing works. Ive tried everything. You name it. Im planning on getting it removed in this month. Hopefully it doesnt come back and my eyelid goes back to the way it was. This has taken a huge toll on my self-confidence, just when i think the swelling is going down someone points it out. "Eeww whats that in your eye???" "Is... is that contagious" people can be so mean and hurtful, like walking around with a huge aching ball in your eyelid isnt enough. :(

Hello! I had an annoying style for about three years. It just stayed lol like it didn't even hurt or anything anymore. I was going to have a procedure done to get it removed because it made my eye look weird when wearing makeup but I ended up not having it. Weirdly, right after I made the decision to try and get it removed I got so very sick with a chronic illness that literally drained my body of every ounce of fat I had and every nutirent. I had barely any fluids inside of me and could not hold any food inside me for more than ten minutes after eating it. The illness drained me from everything I had INCLUDING the stye! HA. Anyway, I don't have the stye anymore and the eyelashes actually started to grow back lol

Hey yes I have the exact same thing as you do, in total I have like 6 of them, 6 because it's like 4 but on my top left eyelid, there's three bumps next to each other. I've had them for 7 months now, and my eye doctor and a pharmacist have both said that it is because my hair. I have long hair and for a long time hairs would touch my eye lids. Ever since then I've made an effort to keep my hair out of my eyes, but I will probably cut it short soon so I don't have to worry about it. I have been trying eye drops, pills, heat compresses, and ointment. I will also try the baby shampoo thing I saw above in these comments. I had not been using them strictly, but just recently I have started using them consistently everyday like they tell you to do. Tell me what you guys think. All of my styes are hard and don't hurt at all, only one of them but I think that's my nerves and skin there because I got an excision in one and it had for the most part gone away but now it has fully grown back to its original size

i had a sty witch turned into a chalazion for 3 years i've been going to the doctors for years about it i've tried all those natural remedies. none worked for my chalazion. but they did work when it was sty. my doctor just gave me some gel to put on it. its been three day and today my chalazion got swollen. i'm not sure if this gel is working now. i have a doctors appointment in a few months, only time they can squeeze me in. so how is surgery? i'm i able to go back to work afterward?

I had one for well over a year that I occasionally used hot/cold compress on and off for days at a time. Recently I washed my face with baking soda and vinegar for unrelated reasons, and today I noticed the stye turned black in the center, added a little hot water to a qtip and it popped.
grossest thing ever.

i can see again and the pressure on my eye is gone.
