It's normal. Not everyone masturbates using their hands. Since you know how to bring yourself to ejaculation your fine. 5" is also about average for an adult male so you'll probably get a bit bigger.

I have to agree here with medic-dan. First your penis is average size for teenagers at your age. As for the masturbation question, well everybody has their own techniques. Until you hurt yourself, or feel any pain, I think you should be fine. Just be moderate at everything, with masturbation as well. If you do it too often you might experience some unwanted effects. For instance blisters on your penis, or burnouts.
You are now in your puberty and as you age your body will develop so much in so little time. You have to know that this is the age where you will experience many changes, from your voice to your muscularity.
