Hello everyone! I wanted to share my story of my hemorrhoidectomy with all of you. First of all, my doctor/surgeon explained everything very well. I knew what to expect as far as the pain factor went. I'll admit, I almost backed out a few days before the surgery. I had been suffering for years though with hemorrhoids, one large internal and one large external. When my doctor did my surgery, I also had an anal fissure. I had to have a sphincterotomy as well. The first 6 days were rough but not unbearable. I've read some of the horror stories on this forum and I just wanted to say that not all experiences are bad. I was fortunate enough to have a doctor that explained everything well. Stool softeners, sitz baths and eating a high fiber diet helped considerably! I am almost 5 weeks post op and am doing great! The discharge that I was having is completely gone. BTW, the discharge thing is completely normal. Don't panic! I wish everyone the best of luck!!
