im going to be 45 this july2017. Same with me my period last 2 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks with big cloth of blood, sometimes straight like a worm. my sister said my lining might be thick.Idont have budjet for checkup.I dont feel any pain, I was just mentally shock.Noe its march 23, 2017my period is almost 3 weeks, sometimes high sometimes low with whole cloth of blood coming. I read if theres some itchiness in vagina suspect for yeast infection.have to insert 2 tablespoon of applecider vinegar to 1 cup of warm water, it can pa thru Water Bottle Fountain Syringe which I bought today.
But when will it stop? Should I see a doctor? .
I'm so so happy to have found this thread. I'm in my late 40s and going through this. My period was regular, then suddenly I started bleeding (not heavy at all, very light) and it just won't stop. I haven't had any other symptoms. I can't find anything else about this online and anything I have found doesn't quite fit my symptoms. This started out of the blue and I feel fine otherwise. I know I've been in perimenopause for a while now because my periods have gotten progressively lighter and shorter. (They used to be very heavy.) I take a multivitamin and have been eating more iron-rich rood to make sure I don't get anemic, but would really like to now what the heck is going on and why my period won't stop. I'm scheduled to have an ultrasound and exam, but can't get in for another couple weeks.

Hi, I am 45 and until 3 months ago had completely normal periods. In April I skipped my period all together (Yay, I thought...menopause). Not so fast! In May I began my period and other than a 4 day gap it lasted for 2.5 months. Period wasn't like a normal period at all. Superheavy (wearing a tampon and 3 pads didn't stop breakthrough bleeding), large clots, bright blood literally poured out... gross. Thank GOD my new insurance took effect and I was able to see the doctor. She put me on progesterone that immediately stopped it and did a pelvic ultra sound. Much to her surprise, the ultrasound was clear!
Once I was done with the progesterone she put me on low ogestrel. So far it is not helping the way I hoped and I am still having long periods (although the flow is lighter). I am severely anemic because of the blood loss and am having rapid heartbeat, chest pain, shortness of breath, exhaustion... ugh! Glad I am not alone in this. I can't do this much longer.

Exact thing happening to me after my last child I had ovarian cancer and cysts I had all lazered out and was told I needed a hysterectomy that was 20 years ago, now I've been bleeding for almost 3 months straight and sometimes it's heavy sometimes slow but I'm totally drained, I should have gotten it done then I'm scared too but I'm so tired of bleeding, I go on the 31st of this month to find out when I can get it done (hysterectomy)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one going through the same too since I turned 50 my periods are crazy will it ever stop so many accidents I'm tired all the time no energy will it stop hopefully soon need to start taking vitamins & iorn

Yes im 45 same symptoms but i do take Vit B and iron this is 3 period like this3 wks the 8 and 6 wks butthis time ive been bleeding for 4 wks so far it tappered thought i was done I too weigh 185 ish 5'4" this is my heavient havent walked in over 2 yrs maybe off and on!!! My thing is ive always been normal till i started this job in jan dental assisting for a jerk of a docter 3 mos ... im not there now but this is like my fourth period since the day I started there... ok ive had 5 kids ages6-18 2 we're cesarean at the end my baby is 6 ... is this perio menopause or possibly hormone or thyroid??? Ive no insurance.... in few weeks ill know .... im sick of bleeding girls?????
Me too I won't stop bleeding im so tired if it none stop weak no energy tired this morning was not bad then all of a sudden full blown bleeding heavy clots didn't have a tampon in for a hour then again not even 20mins I'm scared what is going on with me since I turned 50 all of this is happing to me never had any problems in my 40's
I have the same prob.om 46 and this is very uncomfortable as i never know if its a period of if something is wrong.i dec to go see a doc tomorrow as im not exp any pain or discomfort. But its not easy going through this not knowing what is really happening and so far im not getting any results
