I have suffered from a side effect of drinking which was skin layers from my palm getting ripped by itself. There was no pain but still was irritating. It was in college during my initial drinking days. The condition stopped after some time and nowadays I am happily drinking. Cheers!
One day i purchased this mouth spray (*not that i have a bad breath, but just trying out this product). Then the next day the burning sensation came again and my whole lips turned red and dry. The line of the lips is the most painful. Then I saw the ingredients, and saw it contains alcohol..
So i think we might be allergic to alcohol, and out body reacts against it.
I have had 2 cocktails for the last 10 years at random times, not I thought it was citrus but maybe it's vodka. My lips swell like sausages and my throat swells slightly, the lips ate painful, peel, and look horrible, not to mention the embarrassment of these things. Neosporin seems to help. After reading these posts, it might be the vodka, what a mess! Hope everyone feels better

I believe it's due to zinc dificiency. I get it pretty bad after drinking heavily, red burning lips, spicy foods kill are sore and my skin looks pale and gets blotchy easily.
I used to supplement zinc picolinate daily, and never got it. Whenever I get it now, I'll just have zinc, 50mgs for a day or two and all feels great again. I took it for years, stopped last spring because I feel it's not necessary, but the result is that I still need to take it after a heavier night.
