intermittent bleeding after abortion

I had an abortion 2 weeks ago, and I wasn't bleeding much but today I got as much as say a normal period.. is that okay??

After i had my abortion I was bleeding for 2 weeks than I started bleeding again like a normal period but lasted for about 3-4 day. A few days later I started bleeding than just stopped . Why do I keep bleeding / spotting and than stop and than start over again .?

I have the exact same situation. I have been bleeding since I had abortion, some days light some days heavy with new blood. Today is the 30th day after abortion and my bleeding became heavy again like a period. But I just can't tell if it is my period or the same bleeding that it used to be before. What was the situation in your case? When did bleeding stop? Were you able to get back your periods on track? Was that "heavier" bleeding your period? Or how can you tell if you are having period not post-abortion bleeding? Thanks for your answer in advance!

Hi Guys, I had a an medical abortion exactly 2 weeks ago, first day I had heavy bleeding and the next 3 -4 days was normal like my period day. Since then I have been spotting every now and then. One the 12th day, as suggested by my doc, I also got an Ultrasound done to see if the abortion was complete, results are normal, I came clean. But what worries me is, I'm still spotting. How long will this go on? Plz advice.

Hell dear my doctor said to me no sex for 6weeks cause I must heal so I dnt understand if urs forgot to tell u that cause u r hurting urslf by having sex while u haven't recovered properly................

I had an abortion last Thursday an I was sexually active. I had sex the day b4 yesterday an I went to my follow up viset yesterday an they said everything was fine the baby is gone I just had clots in my uterus well I had stopped bleeding an imworried it might be because I'm pregnant again help please

I have been worried about my bleeding that happened today. I am glad I came across this post.

However, I would want to share with you my story. So if any of you think it is abnormal and I should contact my doctor asap; please let me know.

I am 38+ years old. I have never been pregnant ever before in my life. I conceived on 5th August, 2012. I know the date as I was sexually inactive for 18 months before that and I haven't had sex after 5th August, 2012. I got D&C done on September 28, 2012. Per the clinic, I was 9+ weeks pregnant (I guess they calculate from the 1st day of the last period).

On the day of D&C, right after the procedure; I hardly had any cramps. I didn't really bleed much. It was more like spotting for 1st couple hours. Few hours later, I had slight cramps (not too bad) and passed clots (size of quarter) few times. Initially, blood was red in color. I did bleed some on the 1st day. However, I didn't have to change my pad for 5 hours. So it wasn't heavy bleeding. Blood changed to a little darker color. 

2nd day - it was spotting only and no cramps. Spotting and color was getting darker.

3rd day - had cramps and then passed clots and started bleeding some. Not too heavy. However, I started bleeding some (ch anged 3 pads in a day) and blood was darker in color.

4th day - I went to work today. I have a desk job. However, a little amount of walking and lifting my heavy laptop bag while walking does happen. Bleeding was ok just like 3rd day during the day. After I got home, I started getting bad cramps. This was the 1st time where the cramps were bad and I took one Aleeve. However, that didn't really help the cramps. However, I was able to handle the pain. I changed my pad at 6 pm. And by 8:30 pm, it was all soaked. Color of blood has changed back to red.

 

My question: Is this something to worry about??? I have my follow-up appointment scheduled on October 16th. Should I be contacting my doctor tomorrow???

For you people talking down to the women who have sex soon after an abortion you need to shut up. You do not know them, or their situation. They could be in a very abusive relationship where they're forced into sex. Why must we always assume the worst in people? As if they're idiots for engaging in sex again soon after their abortion. You cannot judge others you do not even personally know like that!

I have had an abortion as well if your family do jot know then make an apointment at the family planning clinkic the are bound to patient docter confidentiality and or complealty seperate from ur regulare docters. Please do this because your condition sounds worrying and there is jo way ur mother will know be brave xxxxx

I also had abortion on 18july..i was bleeding for 8 days then a very very little spotting for 2 3 days now its 31julr n i started bleeding again.. m really worried.. is this normal?? or do i have any infection?? or the remnants are still there inside the uterus??? or something got ruptured inside?? please help
