I have the same thing on my right shoulder blade. I searched and found this: There is, in fact, a condition called zoster sine herpete (i.e., zoster, the virus, without the herpes blisters), in which nerves are affected without the usual rash associated with shingles. The irritation on my back stopped about a week after i posted this post and fingers crossed it hasn't come back since. The cream i ordered turned up but as the irritation had stopped prior to me getting it i don't know if it would have helped or not :-P
I think it was down to stress but still not 100% sure what it was..............Just hoping it doesn't come back.

I had the same thing. Doctors checked everything and found nothing but my a&i was off after a year and a half of suffering my friend told me to check for bartinella he said you have to go to a place that will grow your blood cause it doesn't show up in the doctors regular rest for it and it didn't show up in mine or my daughter so I found a place in NC I had blood test here every two days 3 times them they overnight them to NC took 3 weeks and they came back.i was bad.the cure fore is doxycycline 6 to 8 weeks. There are so many people complaining about this I lost 45 pounds and almost died.please try this test

I know this thread has been going for a while, but I think herpes should be considered as a real possibility. I caught herpes type 2 less than a year ago and even though I'm taking antiviral suppressants, I still get monthly outbreaks. I have done extensive searching and reading of clinical trials and scholarly articles and what I have learnt is that herpes can be the root of many weird and common ailments. I personally get skin crawling around my face and torso and sometimes, but not always, an innocuous looking rash appears, which could be diagnosed as anything (eczema, insect bite, thrush etc) which is why patients continue to feel left in the dark and frustrated by lack of diagnosis. Herpes can be the cause of tonsillitis and a type of meningitis. You can take antivirals liberally to help with an outbreak, but once you have herpes, you have it for life. It loves in the bodies nerve ganglion and travels along nerve pathways to the surface of the skin. When it is there, it can be transferred by contact to another person. It is the contagiousness of it that I hate because I'm paranoid about passing it on to my children when I have outbreaks on my arms, face, torso. 80% of the people who have the virus don't know because symptoms can be mild and obscure enough for it to be passed off as something else. You may well not have herpes and going for a sexual health test won't show you have herpes either unless you go when you have a genital outbreak. Immunology should be able to detect the virus.

Just curious but does anyone else with these symptoms suffer from fatigue as well and random sharp pains too?
I have the burning sensations on and off as well and I have been dealing with them for years along with fatigue and lower right flank pain and other issues and the dr's cannot figure out what is wrong with me and look at me like I am crazy as well.

I have the same problem happening. A burning sensation that is deep and between right shoulder blade and spine. The area of sensation is about 2". A week after the sensation started, a faint rash manifested. I went to the dermatologist worried that it could be shingles, bUT he said he did not think it was. He said he would be guessing if he tried to figure out what it could be. He injected the area with Cortisone. The slight rash went away , but the same sensation remains a month later. I find that I notice it intensifies if I get hot. Not sure if it's actual pain or just a very intense sensation. It feels like something is on me. Uncomfortable.. I have no clue as to what it is.

Me too guys glad I'm not going mad at least or dying as internet would have you believe, my go has no idea as to cause and I've had two visits to a&e to find out and just keep getting creams etc which do nothing

Hello I have the same problem I'm always scratching and have people looking at my back and when I lay down for bed I keep brushing my sheets off and constantly washing them it really feels like bugs crawling in my shoulders I need help please it's on my left side thank you

I have had similar sensation in the groin area very near to my private parts. It started 2 years back and I went totally crazy. I saw dermatologists, neurologists multiple time, but nothing conclusive came out. And then there was stuff on internet that makes you believe life is coming to an end.
Anyway, I decided to live with it and hoped it would never bother me much. Last month I got a pimple there, just a regular pimple. The sensation went worst while the pimple was growing. That's when I decided to do something about it. While I was doing my research 2 years back it was mentioned somewhere that lysine may help. So I have been taking one lysine a day for past 2 weeks. After 4th day I started to feel better. Now the pimple is completely healed and I am stilll taking lysine and I don't feel anything there. I hope it's fine forever. It doesn't bother me at all even when I work out or do any sort of physical activity.
There is so much misinformation out there so please be safe. Try the lysine supplement and hope it works for you.
