Hi everybody. I'm planning to start with this 4 Day Diet thing. I’ve never been fat, but always had a couple of extra pounds. I'm not really optimistic about this diet, but I've got nothing to lose so, why not. The only problem is my mom.-.- We live together and she is totally against it. She says that it could be dangerous for my health and that it's better to have a few extra pounds than to cause some health issues with the diet. She have always been too paranoid when it comes to health. Does anyone know something about bad influences of this diet? Could I really endanger my health with it?

Hi there, TinkerBell23. I hope I won’t sound like your mother :), but if it’s really about a few pounds, is a restrictive diet like this one really needed? I’m assuming you’re young and it’s essential for a young body to receive enough calories (there is a recommended daily amount for everyone). Of course you’ll have to reduce yours if you want to lose weight, but with a restrictive diet like this you may not receive enough calories that your body needs. And that is just not good for your metabolism. So you might want to reconsider this type of diet if you don’t have a real problem.;)

Aristotle40, you may be right. Although, I’ve been on this diet twice- Afterwards I did a preventive blood test and the results were better than before the diet. You could try it and if you start to feel that it doesn’t fit you right, then, you can try another that is more convenient for you. After all, this diet consist of eating perfectly healthy food, so I don’t see the problem. Of course, I think the results of the diet are individual and different from person to person. I’m not saying that if it worked well for me, it will work well for everybody.

Mellissa I‘m very aware that it does good for some people. But then again it could be bad for the others. Especially for the young people whose organism lack vitamin D or calcium (since it is well known that this diet may not satisfy people’s needs for them each day). TinkerBell23 it may be the best way for you to lose a couple of pounds by seeing a registered dietitian so he can determine your nutritional needs for 1 day and then he will be able to tell you which part of the 4-Day Diet works for you and which restrictions wouldn’t be very clever to obey. I’m glad it worked good for you Melissa8. Anyone had some bad experiences?
