Is a pregnancy test part of normal protocol when a female presents with a UTI?

Hi there,

Urinary tract infection is caused by bacterial infection that can happen to anyone. However mostly women have this condition and some statistics say that more than 60% of women experience urinary tract infection at least once in their life time. Now the test that doctor uses to determine the urinary tract infection don’t include pregnancy test as much as I know. The doctor will take a sample of your urine, maybe he will scan your urinary tract using ultrasound or CT. Sometimes he will use scope to see inside your bladder if the urinary tract infection is too severe. Why are you asking about urinary tract testing and pregnancy test? Do you thing that you are pregnant?
