Hello,
For the past month or so I’ve had major problems with sleeping. Several very stressful things did happen some time before my troubles with sleeping started, so I attributed the constant insomnia to that. But, since after few weeks of just a few hours per night sleep I simply couldn’t work or generally function, my physician prescribed me Rozerem.
This sleep aid sure did put me back to sleep effectively at start, but last few nights in a row I couldn’t sleep despite taking Rozerem as usual. Now my physician wants me to see a psychiatrist because he thinks I have most of the depression characteristics, and he’s prescribed me Zoloft mg with Rozerem until the appointment. What are the chances that Rozerem is causing my depression?
Hi gills,
for a big number of people sleep disorders, either insomnia or sleeping too much and feeling tired constantly, are the first signs of depression that get them to start looking for treatment. What I'm trying to say is that there is a chance that you were already depressed when you talked with your physician, but taking only Rozerem - mostly useful only as a sleep aid just managed to hold of depression for a while.
So, your depression might be completely unrelated to taking Rozerem specifically, instead, Rozerem was just handling your sleep disorder.
