is it normal to have irregular periods after a tubal ligation?

My periods were always pretty regular, then i had my tubes tied. They started to come later and later along with bad cramps, which i really never had much trouble with before. I would get the occasional twinge if you will, but after having the tubal, it got worse. 28 to 31 days was my cycle, then it stretched anywhere from 28 to 40 days.
I still say the procedure screwed up my period.

Can a woman still have her menstruation after bilateral tubal ligation?
