I'm 27 weeks pregnant after my Husband's vasectomy failed after 15 years. We've been together 6 years and before that he was with his fist wife for over 8 years and obviously never used anything else. I'm 42 so I though it was an early menopause so it was rather a shock!

So please tell us, what was the verdict? I am currently 10 days late today, my daughter is 8 and her father had the surgery just after she was born. Now my situation is a little different simply because I am 45 and it obviously could be pre-menopause. Just curious how things turned out for you.

Well after 13 years with DH having a vasectomy (we did all the follow ups for the 3 & 6 mos) I became pregnant. It ended up being an ectopic pregnancy so we did not get to keep the baby but the past few days have been the craziest I have ever had. We have an appointment to get my hubby checked to see the actual cause and make sure he is OK. My tubes have both been removed as well so now I hope my husband's super sperm will be stopped! Get checked every couple years people and yes it can happen!!

After my divorce,I fell madly in love with someone who is now my fiance'. We have talked about having a baby and are in love with the idea. Problems are, I'm 53,she is 38 and I have a child from previous marriage and had a vasectomy about 20 years ago. Here's the kicker.. I began noticing some changes in my southern anatomy after we started making love on a regular basis. Where there had been eveidence of the proceedure,(two distinct ends of the vas deferens were indentifiable by touch)there soon became none. My orgasms seemed a lot more powerfull and the amount of ejaculate was very large compared to what it had been. It excited us, and I started taking sperm enhancing supplements. Well be careful what you ask for..My fiance' is 2 months pregnant! I have since done a SA and I am firing live rounds. I am one who has had a recanalization late in life. It does happen more than the AMA wants people to know. Pay attention to similar symptoms if you notice anything different like I did. You could be on your way to planting the seed!

Seems like no one comes back to confirm or deny their suspicions. I was reading these myself because I am In fact pregnant after having had the vasectomy done on my husband four years ago. He also did the semen testing after 100 ejaculations with 100% success. (No sperm in the semen) I was just trying to see how common it is. Just for the record it IS possible after four years of success it is likely my husband recanalized. I would not say a vasectomy is unreliable but that if you want to make absolutely sure to just both female and male have your tubes burned. Otherwise your leaving yourself in the category 10/1000 who re fertilize due to recanalization. Which of course I had to be one of of the ten. Def recommend vasectomy still simply because it does not affect a man in any way outside of the procedure itself, whereas women can often times have lingering side effects permanently. Weight gain, hormonal imbalance, etc. take care
