Hello, folks. My nephew should go for a liver transplantation. I am really not sure why this is necessary. I have heard that this kind of procedure is more efficient in older kids, but I am not sure. Can anyone tell me something more about this? I would really appreciate all your replies.
Hello, there. I guess this could be true. Maybe this is not valid for the procedure itself. I think the aftercare is maybe better within older kids. They have more discipline. And you shouldn’t neglect the importance of aftercare for recovery process. In any case, you should consult your nephew’s doctor. I hope this will help you. Good luck! Bye!
Hello. I would agree with previous post. My neighbor was 14 when he had his liver transplanted. I know that he was much disciplined when it comes to aftercare. You must go regularly to be examined and tested. You also must take immunosuppressive medications regularly. Older kids will better understand this. You can sit and explain them why this is important for doing all these things. I am not sure how it works with younger kids. I hope this was helpful.
