I was taking 10/325 hydros 4-5x a day, maybe 2-3 times a week until I found out I was pregnant at 5-6 weeks. I am now about to be 16 weeks, and have been doing a lot of reading about hydros possibly causing birth defects if taken in the two months of pregnancy and have genuinely freaked myself out. So I was wondering if you have experienced and problems so far?

I do agree my aunt is an obgyn doctor and they do not drug test unless they think you may be on drugs for a fact or you look like you are, it would cost way to much money to drug test every woman who goes into labor. If a doctor Okayama you taking a prescription then they trust the benifit outweighs the risk just be careful. I know this post is old I just had to comment cause so many women need answers and so many negative feedback.

In CA they will test based on a certain known risk factors. I have never used drugs and my son was born early at 35 weeks. Because premature birth is an associated risk, by law, my son was tested. Obviously the results were negative, but the testing certainly had nothing to do with me being "unfit."
They drug test based on risk factors. Premature birth is a risk factor for drug use. I am an RN and my son was a preemie, born at 35 weeks. Because he was early, by law he was drug tested. It had nothing to do with how I looked, or whether or not I am a fit mother. I have never taken drugs. There are laws in place to protect children and those laws are based on scientific evidence based practice. Simple as that.
Yes, I had my son 2 years ago. Read everywhere they do drug tests and meconium tests on every baby & mommy and they did not do those tests on us.
How was your baby at birth? I'm in pain management and 28w3d pregnant. Taking 2 Zohydro ER 30 per day (12 hours apart) and I am nervous how baby will be at birth, so scared she will need nicu as a few people have scared me with horror stories, granted mostly of street drug withdrawal at birth, but still unnerving. If I don't take medication, damaged discs in my back keep me laid up 24/7 unable to move or care for my older child :(

Hey I wanted to know excactly how much dosage you were taking ? I'm currently pregnant I'm 6 weeks I have had back issues and pain for the past 4 years. I have been taking norco but when I found out I was pregnant I lowered my dosage to 10-mg once a day! And I'm so scared my baby will have it in his system please I need some advice
