Hi I'm 13 yrs old and earlier this month (or late last month I don't remember) I had a little bit of blood but mostly brown discharge. I figured it was a pre-period. But I had no cramps. Then after that I had a narrow line of brown discharge (I didn't see any blood) on my pantyliner and then my regular discharge stopped, came back, stopped, came back and stopped again.
Then today I went to use the restroom and I noticed quite a bit of brownish discharge on my pantyliner. On the "inside" there was blood. It was darrrrk. Almost dark brown. I thought it Would just go away and not come back for a while like last time, but I just went to the bathroom about 45 minutes maybe an hour after the last time, and it was there again.
I have absolutely no cramps. My sister said her period started out like that too but then she got cramps later on.
Soo, is this my period?

Hi this sounds like a period to me! I remember getting my first period, I was so scared, for no reason. This blood spot can look dark brown or bright red, so don't be concerned if it isn't the color you expected. From now on, you will receive a menstrual period according to a cycle that your body determines. The most common symptom of menarche, is cramping, but if you don't get cramps you should be happy about it, not worried. :-D

I'm glad I don't have cramps but also a little bit worried cause my sister who said her period started the same way (no cramps) has really severe cramp problems, like she would be in bed the whole period sobbing because they hurt too bad and the doctor diagnosed her with some sort of sickness that has to do with your cramps and she had to go on the birth control pill to control it. I'm kinda scared it'll happen to me.
