Hi Sheltimam,I think you might have got some poor quality Kratom there’s plenty out there, it gets people down off Heroin and Methadone so you must have a strange constitution. But if you say if it didn’t work it didn’t work. I wish you well and on three days your half way over the worst.

Yes and the Krabtom definitly does help. I have tryed to quit without it and there is no comparison. I realy do think that this time, I can do it!! Not sure what the Krantom does, but it sure helps with the pains and depression, and realy does not taste that bad, soirt of like putting raw tea in your mouth is all. Thanks to you for help.

KRATOM ?

Those of you considering Kratom, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, google “Kratom withdrawals” and do your own research so you can make an educated decision. I'm not trying to start a debate, not at all. We are here to support each other and share information. Of course the big money pharmaceutical companies will have nothing but bad to say about anything that might dip into their wealth. Don't pay any attention to that but DO pay attention to what other people are saying about the withdrawals. Ultimately the decision is yours to make.

I see all these ads to help with withdrawls they are all so expensive. Can anyone vouch for any of them? Thanx for your replies guys

So pleased Kratom worked for you Job it really is a god-send for coming off Tramadol, it worked for me too. I can understand Guest advising caution but kratom’s legal status is because it has such a low potential for addiction. You will certainly not get addicted in a week taking the bog standard powdered leaf variety which is all you need to get off Tramadol. People who have problems with Kratom are those who use the 10x 15x preparations or the super enhanced varieties over a long period of time, that type of over indulgence is bound to lead to problems but that is certainly not what we are talking about here. As with all things in life you have to weigh up the pros and cons and come to a rational decision, there are many people who can’t see out the withdrawal period without popping another tramadol which means being enslaved for more months or years of addiction, for anyone in that position I would suggest taking a few crushed Kratom leaves for a week is a very intelligent way to go. Because of its legal status there is no stigma attached either if that is of concern to you. Kratom will only help with that terrible first week of intense physical withdrawal. Many people still crave the effects of Tramadol after breaking the physical addiction because of its calming effects and because it is like losing and old friend that helped you cope with life and cheered you up, this is where the psychological fight begins. If you Google “Tramadol and PAWS” it will tell you why you have to stay focused and not let your guard down to avoid relapse. PAWS stands for post-acute withdrawal syndrome and is responsible for most relapses.

I read up about PAWS, and think I experienced this. I was associated my feeling at the time to a full moon lol. I had never heard of Kratom, so I quit cold turkey and after a few days without being to sleep and all the other associated symptoms got Valium to calm me down and help me sleep. I am now 35 days clean of Tramadol. However, I took a nasty spill on the weekend and got thrown off my horse and done some damage to my left elbow and the muscles in my shoulders and forearm. So I've been put on panadeine forte 30mg codeine - I didn't want to be taking anything but the pain is pretty bad otherwise. My Dr tried to prescribe me Tramadol, but I said NO. How easy would it of been to say yes? But I think I am finally in that frame of mind where I know it wasnt good, what it did for me was nothing, just a bad addiction. Im having more fun having the energy and motivation to play with my daughter and ensuring her life is fulfilling :)

I've quit codeine, percocet, darvacet, and tramadol. Tramadol was by far the hardest, not even close.

Codeine will clog you up very quickly, that's what happened to Elvis and why he died.

Hi Sheltimom, Go on a site that looks professional, I know that doesn’t always mean it’s good stuff but it’s usually a good indication and look for positive feedback from customers. If you mention a particular company on here the censor will bar it so I can’t recommend any. You only need the ordinary powdered leaf not the enhanced variety and you will need about 50 grams to get you through about a week, read my earlier post going back a week or so on how to take it. My post was to Job at the time. Good luck.

I am the guest that posted concerns about Kratom. Thank you for an intelligent and non attacking response and bringing to light the importance of using it correctly to help people get off Tramadol. Like a good little sheep, I didn't do my homework when I was prescribed Tramadol and have now vowed to never put anything in this body again until I have researched all the info available. Not all information is valid but if you do enuff research you can usually weed out alot of the c**p.

I'm at 35 days now and doing good for the most part. However, the sleeplessness has returned. Is this normal? and will it go away for good anytime soon?

Hi tminc your sleeplessness is one of the symptom of PAWS its endurance all depends on how much and for how long you were using before you got clean.

I'm 5 days into quitting, its been difficult but I've made it! I slept last night from 11 until the time my alarm went off and it was wonderful. So far I've had minimal cravings. I went into this with the mindset that i don't have another choice, i don't get to go back onto any type of medication. I really believe this time is it, I'm done quitting and starting again.

Hi I just thought I'd chime in with my experience because it was the scary experiences that kept me from quitting for several months. I took about 10-12 pills a day, 50 mg, for the better part of a year. I wanted to quit so badly. I have so much good to be present for, so much I need to do, and I hated the way I felt on Tramadol. I was always exhausted, dumb, humorless, inefficient. No way to live a life. But I never even tried, figured I was too busy and had too many responsibilities. Single mother, two jobs...you get the gist.

I quit 31 days ago after a shipment got delayed. By the time it came, I was done and sent it back. The way I quit was this: I reduced my amount rather quickly, from taking 8 a day for a week to the following for the next 4 days: 5, 3, 1.5, then zero. I can't exactly say this is safe, though. But in the last 3 days I feathered in hydrocodone. I rode out the worst of the symptoms taking about 2 of those a day (5mg hydro each), then I quit the hydrocodone when I felt like the worst of the sweats/chills/intolerance to cold were over.

I took the hydros for about 2 weeks. When I quit the hydros, the worst was over.

I took Melatonin to sleep, along with Unisom on bad nights. I also took Magnesium and Potassium. One thing that really helped was (is--I still take it) a natural supplement called Rhodiola rosea. Google it if you're interested in how it might help with Tramadol WD. Lots of effect on stress hormones and neurotransmitters, all of which are out of balance in WDs. I don't intend to stop Rhodiola anytime soon. It really helps me and is non-addictive. An ancient supplement.

I'll never know what it would have been like to just taper down the Tramadol. Maybe I would have been surprised by how relatively easy that was, too. I only know that others have done that successfully, but this is what I did.

Godspeed to anyone going through this. There are plenty of people who have gotten trapped by this drug. You're not alone.
