I just turned 30 last fall. I also had a case of scabies that lasted a couple weeks last fall. I cured it with diligent cleaning and treatment. That was 5 months ago. Since then I have been using homemade laundry detergent that is made of all natural bar soap, arm&hammer baking soda, borax and corn starch. Since then I have also been using organic body soaps that include organic oils. I have had sensitive skin allergies all my life, have very fair skin, and some eczema. A couple weeks ago I got a different organic soap that is mostly tea tree oil because I have had problems with other skin infections. Since then I have also been laundering my bras more often, for awhile everyday. I used to not change my bras for days, and never had a problem. For years, due to a family member talking about scrunched breasts during sleeping, I wear my bras all day and night. About 2 months ago I started to have breast itch. It's intermittent. I have size D breasts that didn't stop growing until I was 25. All my bras are old, none I've had less than a year. But, I did buy 3 more online that came in the mail today....now I hesitate to try them because of the other posts. I told my mother about this, and she didn't have a clue. She has smaller breasts than me. I told my best friend about this itching and she said that she has been dealing with breast itch ever since she started her period, and has itchy breasts a week before her flux each month. Mine itch between periods. She says that she relieves it with a heat pad. Mine itch the worst when I just get into the shower and hot water hits them. Now, I live by Lake Superior and it's been winter here since November. The last few years I've had some dandruff. I've had a multitude of health problems the past few years, low thyroid, adrenal, didn't menstruate/flux for 5 months last years. I started taking amino acids and all that went away except the dry skin. Now, breast itch. I'm thinking it's dry skin related and hormonal. The itching is under and on the skin, just like the other posts describe.

Same 30 year old that had scabies here. I forgot to mention that I don't ever remember having itchy breasts before, and that only my breasts and scalp itch any more. I have dandruff. My breasts look normal, feel normal. I also developed allergies in my ears since last fall, didn't have ear infections since I was a kid. I think that this is hormonal and possibly an allergy. I want to do a "Cleanse" soon, I'd bet that'll help it.

i just wanted to say every woman starting at age16 should be going to the mammogram. i know its too early, eh? im only 20 and im planning to go sometime this year. it depends on where you live. here in canada, at least in my province, women are being encouraged to check their breasts every 2-3 years. i keep thinking im too young too but again its better to get checked with small symptoms rather than to face a real problem. btw that itchy thing, im not concerned anymore, in my case im pretty sure its due to the weather. even though it gets really cold here, i still spend most of my time indoor, so the air is dry which causes all this.

I'm 15 going on 16, and my breasts have been itching mostly around the nipples for well over a month now. It started with just the left breast, now it's both. It's driving me insane, and it keeps me up and night and I get the urge to scratch at all hours of the day! I thought it was my bra, but when I bought and wore a new one for a while, it didn't go away. I'm not sure what it is, but I know it's not eczema. No matter what I try, it never goes away for more than a few hours. Everything else is normal, though. I'm size 36-D, I wear the right size of bra, I wash regularly... I just want to know how to make it stop!

I have worn Vic Sec bras for ages. However about 4-5 months ago i purchased 3 new ones. The padding on them is a little bit different (thicker, maybe?) than on the older bras. Any way for about 3-4 weeks now my breasts have been itching terribly. Mostly at nighttime, I don't really let myself get started in the daytiime, because once I give in to the itch and begin to scratch, it is just terrifying, ( by the way, that is a phrase my mother used to use to describe an itch, I know what she meant now). I have a rash on my breasts that goes about halfway up my upper chest region, just underneath my bra straps. I am 57 yo and have never experieced any thing like this. AT first I was pretty sure it was the detergent, even though it is allergy free kind, for sensitive skin, which i have used for years. However, after reading these posts, I am leaning towards the chemical composition of the foam (formaldehyde, etc.) probably causing a contact dermatitis kind of thing. I am gonna "go green" with my bras. It's funny because I am an Industrial Hygienist by trade, we study exposures in the workplace that make people sick. But I didn't think of that in my own realm of exposures.
To the 12 yo in the previous post, i remember my breasts itched when i was your age, but it was just hormones and "growing itches". If you have fears, you should go directly to a doctor and tell them about what is going on.

Girl, you really need to go to the dr. for that one I was about to ask do you think you might be preggo because all those symptoms including the itchy breasts are preggo symptoms but since you haven't had a period in almost 10 months you would be having the baby any min go to your dr. haveing no period for that long is a really big deal.

I have had itchy breasts for several months now. Can't remember the exact time set, but breasts itch like crazy! I don't use victoria secret bras. My bras are bought from target and walmart (playtex brand) is what I have been using for a couple years now. So I don't know if it is from those bras or something more serious. I did google ithcy breasts a couple months ago and basically if uv ruled out detergent and the material that u wear that it could be a form of cancer. I am afraid to go to the doctor only to get the run around. But I think that we should all go to make sure that its nothing that serious.................

Ok im only 15 years old. My breast have been itchy now for maybe a month or so. Im a little scared that it might be serious and i have told my mother and she said to put lotion on and it would get better. I did do that but the effect is only temperately. Also my breast have been extremely sensitive, theres days when i cant even hug anyone because they do hurt. And if it helps i have extremly small breast, im a size 34 A. Something else is when i do check my breast i feel small balls, i mean it can be just my booby but im still a little scared. I was hoping if someone could just help me out a little bit....

I am 36 with large breasts and have not changed my detergent. My breasts are always itchy and I find when I start itching I can't stop. It's the whole breast not just the nipples but the nipples itch the most. This has been occurring for a few months. I didn't buy any new bras in the last few months and I havent changed my detergent at all, so I am confused what would cause this. It's nice to know I'm not alone out there but it would be nice to know why I've never had itchy breasts before until now. Sometimes I itch them so much that a few days later they are a bit chapped from rubbing them so much.
Has anyone been to a doctor and if so what is there explanation on this?

I'm having the same problem, and I'm in my 30s. a lot of tmes when you post about this problem, the response is "they are growing" I believe they've stopped growing a long time ago. I do not have any kids, and not pregnant, but this is so uncomfortable, especially in public, you just want to screatch badly...:-|

I remember when i was pregnant my breasts (and stomach) itched terribly. I wud literally leave scratches from scratching them do hard. I also know this was down to a mixture of hormones, and the skin stretching as they got bigger. However, I'm now 36 and out of the blue, two weeks ago, they started itching like crazy, all ovber, not just the nipples. it comes and goes, its not detergent or bra (i havent worn a bra all week because of the itching), the only thing i can think of is that i've been losing a little weight lately, so they will be shrinking slightly. I wonder if it can be that. There isnt any other explanation I can think of. :/
