I'm 37 years of age with 38D and have had this problem since last Winter (seems to only happen in the cold weather- I live in NJ). It drives me MAD and I itch until I can't itch anymore and they turn bright red. It's only my areolas that itch, but I go crazy and itch the whole damn breast. I use hydrocortisone cream and it's temporary relief. They don't itch everyday, but when they do.....uuuuuugh! I try to use all natural organic lotion on them to try to soothe the dry skin, but again...it's only temporary. I've even used a little bit of olive oil...and that seems to help more than anything. But it's oily! :/ And unlike most here, I have other areas on my body that are really itchy, too, in the cold weather...especially my legs (probably because of shaving). I hate the Winter weather! :/
I use cheap bras that I buy at Kohl's, but considering I've been using them for quite a few years, I doubt that's the problem...but I am currently looking into an organic cotton bra ( ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web

I stay away from all products that have sodium laurel/laureth sulfates, parabens, etc. and I do not use any synthetic perfumes (I try my best to stay away from carcinogens, they cause cancer).
I have never gotten a mammogram and I never will. Mammograms are radiation...and what does radiation do? Cause cancer. If I ever need to have my breasts checked out, I will get breast thermography, and may I suggest everyone look into that as well? They are completely safe and more effective. Do your body a favor and research it! :)
I have gained a little bit of weight over the past couple of years (I'm about 25lbs overweight), so I'm wondering if the weight gain has something to do with it. I started going back to the gym recently and I have already lost a little bit of weight and plan on losing the rest within a few months. I guess I will find out soon if the weight gain caused my itchy breasts. :)
There are so many ways to look at this...weight gain, synthetic materials in clothes/bras, perfume and dye allergies, dry skin, cold weather, change in diet, medication, lack of water (dehydration), I even saw some people on here saying yeast infections or "athlete's breast"...there are so many possibilities, ladies, as to why we are suffering from this condition. The only way to figure it out is to start changing things in your everyday life that you think may be the cause. You know your body better than anyone. Some of you may need to see a health care professional, so don't hesitate. I'm sending good wishes and thoughts to all of you out there and may we all have healthy breasts
