My grandson developed a small rash - just a few dots (about 8) just below his naval. He now has a rash covering his face and under his chin (neck) the rash looks like little round red dots and when you look really close at them you can see some tiny white centers - almost like a pimple. He has not had a fever that we know of.

I have started itching two night ago all over my forehead and my scalp. I got a fever with chills that very night which continued the next day. My eyes seemed a bit funny feeling as did my throat but these symptoms have subsided and were not intense.

The itchiness seemed to subside after a long hot shower yesterday but the itchiness began again during the late evening. I woke this morning to still feeling a bit of itch on my scalp and face. Still feel as though I might have a low grade temp.

I have looked at pics on the web of measles, chicken pox, scabies and flea bites (we took in a stray a few weeks ago) but don't really see a resemblance to any of the above and my grandsons rash - I have ruled out flea bites because no one else in the family has this rash and also because my other granson did have fleabites many years ago- these do not look like bites...Besides why would only one grandchild have the rash and none of the other family members??.... Any idea what is ging on with us?
Sounds like SCABIES! My son was handling a neighbors cat and playing in the grass alot and gave it to me. It sounds very similar. Showers dull it for a little while, but afterwards you will itch like CRAZY.

This is treated the same way that lice are. You will have to get that special shampoo and use it head to toe for 2-3 days. You will have to wash everything that you come in contact with...bed sheets, etc.
