If you have an external yeast infection, it's not about your diet, it's a dark moist environment which allows the yeast to grow. This is why yeast infections are in the crotch and foot areas.

Hello everyone! First of all I'll apologize any major grammar errors - English isn't my native language. I'm a female, 18 years old and I live in Finland. I have had all those symptoms, red, swollen eyelids, rash etc. It started a few years ago on my arms. It didn't matter whether it was winter or summer, it was always there. There was sometimes a break for a few months but it always came back.

I was in Crete a few months ago and the rash in my arms had been gone for a while. While in there it started again worse than ever before. I went to a local pharmacy and they gave me some cream that eased the rash a bit. It didn't really go away when I came back to Finland and finally, after all the years I went to a doctor. The doctor gave me some basic lotion and Elocon, a cortisone cream. When I went to the doctor, there was just this tiny area on my left eyelid that was itching and a bit red and dry. The creams worked perfectly on my arms but they do nothing to my eyes.

I woke up this morning with my both eyes so swollen I could barely see. The rash seems to expand to my nose slowly. This is torment, my facial features aren't normal anymore because of the swelling. With the rash in my arms I could cope and I have done so, but I'm getting tired of this eyelid thing. It's been weeks now and it's only getting worse no matter what I do. Some mornings the swelling is gone and the skin peels off but the next morning they're all red and itchy again. I haven't changed any cosmetic products in a long while so it can't be that.

I have wondered if this could be milk allergy. It can cause rash and my friend has it too and she has these random dry and itchy spots all over her body. I have been diagnosed with lactose intolerance, I don't know if that could be any indication. I don't have any allergies though. As a baby and a kid I had no skin problems. The doctor thought what I had in my arms was just atopic eczema but I refuse to believe that it's just that. I guess I have to call a doctor tomorrow, I really don't want to wake up and look like a monster.

I will also try some tricks some of you have shared, thank you all for them! I'll do anything to get rid of this. It's great to not be alone in this.

Hi I have just logged onto this web page because I woke up yesterday with the same problem and it is worse today.
I think it could be stress related as I have just purchased a new house in Spain and am having a few problems with it
and trying to converse with Spanish red tape is a nightmare. and this rash suddenly appeared.

Hello!  I have read both parts of this forum as well as every page between and will try some of the suggestions offered but about me:

I'm 36 years old as of last week and have had rash issues since I was pregnant with my daughter.  Started out as a patch under my eye when I was pregnant, had my daughter and it went away only to come back as a patch under my eye again a couple of months later.  Summer came and it cleared up.  September I started to get a rash on my arms and legs, I didn't have health insurance at the time so just dealt with it, wore long sleeves and long pants, since it was winter it wasn't that bad, used benedryl on the rash but didn't help the itch, finally switched to ice and vasaline and it cleared up within a couple of years.  Figured it was something in the house we were living in that I had an allergy to and since we moved that summer didn't think I'd get it again.  Weekend before Thanksgiving got he patch under my eye again, it was dry, red and very itchy but it was a patch and honestly not even close to how bad it was the prior winter all over my arms and legs so just put lotion on it and went about my business.  The day after Thanksgiving my cheeks became red, swollen, oozy and leathery feeling.  I looked like a demented Cabbage Patch kid.  Very mild itchiness but my husband took one look at me the following morning and said that isn't normal we are going to the ER.  I was diagnosed at that point with cellulitis given claritin, pepcid, and an antibactirial and antiviral and told to put nothing on it at all and to come back in the following afternoon.  I didn't make it the following afternoon I had to go in in the am as by that point it was completely dry, painful, even more red which I didn't think was possible and cracking since she told me not to put anything on it the only relief I had was cold washclothes.  This nurse looked me me like I was crazy for not putting anything on it and gave me Presidone in addition to everything else I had and told me to put Eucerin cream on it.  Within a week it cleared up and I thought that was that but no a week after I stopped the meds it came back only this time it started on my eye lids and around my ear but it was just really dry skin so I put my lotion on it and went on my merry way and about a week later it was VERY itchy, VERY red and my eyes were nearly swollen shut along with the rash spreading from my eyes back to  my cheeks and even a little on my chin and nose.  Reading caused me to tear up and my vision was very blurry.  Hubby took one look at me and once again decided that it was not normal and took me to the ER.  I was put on a different oral steriod this go round and although the rash has now been reduced to an itchy looking sunburn (at least I can go in public again!) it's still here.  Going to a dermatologist sometime this week.  My husband just pointed out to  me last night that we changed conditioner the week I got slightly rashy this year and that the second ingredient on this list was cyclopentasiloxane which we then googled and low and behold found a lot of postings about allergies to that.  Evidently it's in a lot of beauty products and fairly new to the market.  Not sure if this is my problem but it's given me hope, I dont want to be stuck in the house every winter looking like a demented Cabbage Patch doll.

Its mold, yeast, algae or fungus. It is most likely in your bedding which is why you wake up feeling wore than when you went to sleep. Essentially you are rubbing your face in something that you are allergic to. I used Desenex foot powder to sooth my sore face because it felt good and was safe enough to carefully put on my eyelids. Tinactin spray was a successful OTC which I sprayed on my hands and wiped gently around my face but NOT on my eyes. Wash everything in bleach and hot water, especially pillows and pillow cases, and I sprayed my matresss with bleach. Be sure to have adequate ventilation in that room so your bedding can dry quickly and the fumes do not get to you. Also 100% aloe from the plant and tea tree oil is helpful in soothing and getting rid of any bacteria or fungus that linger on your face and body. (Keep away from your eyes though.)

Hello
Did you ever figure what was causing your rash. I have been going through the same issue for 2 years now. I am so frustrated & depressed and tired. Everything your ND said sounds like he or she is onto something. I look forward in hearing from you.

Never figured out what caused the rash actually I think it was from my pillow and being in storage. I thought I washed it but it's possible I didn't. I was put on a light steroid cream and a antihistamine/anti anxiety medication and I have been rash free for nearly a month now! The RN in the ER that treated me told me that 90% of the time the cause is never known as far as what the reaction was to. In going to my dermatologist I was also told that the steroid I was given in the ER will cause "flash rashes" which is what I was having I had my initial reaction and the presidone stopped it but once it was out of my system the rash came back to I guess run it's course and so the rash kept coming back. If the rash does come back I was told to start using my steroid cream again along with the pills I was given to keep my reaction in check.

Kinda odd that I am nearly positive I posted my follow up to this and yet nothing is here....

I started a week ago with an itchy red rasied rash on my left forehead and behind the left ear and down the neck, really swollen left eye on lid, corner and under the eye. Spread to right side of forehead and swelling in right eye and under the right eye. Not as bad as left. I am on 3 precriptions and have been to the doctor 3 times. the neck seems to be spreading even after the med's. Seems to me it is working it's way down my face. When it first started on forehead it was close to hairline but spread to eyebrow. I am going for bloodwork but just feel whatever this is is still active in my body. I don't know what to do or what this is, The only thing different is the day before it started I had my hair colored at a salon.

I'm 22 years old. I've had the same problem for about 3 years now, I've been researching since. The skin around my eyes (mostly the under eye skin and outer corners) become tingly with an itching sensation and that's when I know they are going to begin swelling. Unfortunately this happens pretty often. Lately the swelling hasn't occurred as often as it used to, but the itching sensation as well as some under eye peeling is common for me. I've tried different moisturizers but not much success there. I've even tried coconut oil because I've heard it has natural healing abilities, but I think it actually made it worse. I went to a dermatologist and all she said was it was nail polish, well since then I haven't painted my nails in so long I know that's not that. I have a feeling it is my allergies especially since it flares up most in the spring when the pollen is full force. I take Zyrtec daily but it hasn't helped the situation except my sneezing. I see no pattern in the random flare ups and peeling..I'm beginning to run out of ideas on what to do. Doctors don't provide the answers I need...

I am 70 years old never taken prescriptions, never had surgery, do only 90% organic foods, never take over the counter for any reason. Since December 22, 2012 I have had four times now swollen beat red face and eye lids, even on my neck one time. I have had all the allergy tests with nothing major except Wheat, Yeast and Glutin.

No matter what my Doctor or my Dermatoligist have given me has worked. I end up with cold water and vasoline to get any difference in the swelling or red face and eyes to calm down.

I stayed home from work 4 days to get it under control and not look so scarey.  Guess what? on 4th day to go to work I woke up with it all over again. I do not eat any foods that are on the low end of being allergic. So, that can't be it either.

Now I'm wondering if my microwave could be leaking... why am I just red where no clothes are covering!!

Good day to all swollen, red and itchy eye people.  In reading some of the testimonies earlier someone mentioned her ND said it could be causeD by Hypoadrenia and/or hypothyroid.  The majority of people now a day suffers from slow thyroid due to our environment. Well I have both and had been treating it with Young Living essential oils.  However, I have been slacking on my adrenia oils for a few months and my thyroid oil I had stop thinking that this is what may have caused this reaction.  I am a Biofeedback practioner and I checked myself.  It said that I have a viral as well as bacterial infection.  Now we all have some kind of bug in us.  However, the biggest surprise was that I have lots of parasites.  Needless to say I have started a colon cleanse that I sped up with colonics and I am continuing on the cleanse.  I have also added the parasite protocol.  I am also making capsules with certain oils to deal with the viral and bacterial infections which I will continue for about 1 month.  THE BEST was this morning I applied my thyroid oil to my thyroid glands and on my reflexology points and I applied my adrenal mix to both adrenal glands and once again on my feflexolygy point on my feet.  NOT A WORD OF A LIE, within 1/2 hour the swelling on my eyes went down and almost look normal.  Besides the fact that my eyelids are still red.  I will keep with my hormonal oils and with the detox.  Detoxing is the most important part of all this as our body cannot function well in a toxic environment.

I have the same condition, started 2 days ago, have had before and it usually clears up, but it's getting worse with eyelid swelling, also rash around mouth area.  What's sccupuncture?  Accupuncture?  Not covered by my insurance.

I have been dealing with this for three months, which is more than enough! I couldnt figure out what the cause could be, makeup brushes, shampoo, detergent.? It didnt appear that I had eatten anything different or changed my routine in any significant way.  And as many of you have said, the allergists and doctors are clueless and not helpful.  I can tell you what is helpful....not the steroid creams......but washing your face with the aveno oatmeal bath packets.  Use it like a mask or face wash.  It is so soothing and the only thing that doesnt make the rash worse.  I also put diaper rash cream for babies on after that.  It helps with the itching and acts like a suntan lotion as well.  This course of action has improved my face almost better than the prednisone.  Good luck everyone!
