I have had these little blood blisters for many years. They, I believe are harmless. Wearing very tight jeans that compress the crotch cab bring them on. Also, sitting with your legs crossed for long periods or masturbation, eg: squeezing your legs together, are all reasons for possile cause. Granted, UGLY, but harmless! I am a nurse & have observed on exam of other females also. Not to worry!1
I have just recently discovered these same things. I went to a Gyno and was told that it looked like Rupture blood vessels. She wanted to know if I had been "straining" lately. I told her no, I almost always have the opposite problem. I have never given birth. I am very worried and embarrassed about these things. I have been avoiding sex with my husband. Please, somebody tell me what these are.
Nice to know i'm not the only one! I'm 16 years old, never had sex, and i've got one on my outer labia. I'm thinking its just from rubbing up against my underwear.
I have the same problem and this is what I've come up with. There are a few possible reasons. It could be your underwear. If they're tight the elastic rubs and can cause a blister, just like when your foot rubs inside a tight shoe. If you wear a thong you'll get them in more sensitive areas. It could possibly be an ingrown hair as well. If you shave especially, you have a higher chance of getting ingrown hairs. Or it could simply be a pimple. The best way to prevent them is to keep yourself clean and dry, don't wear tight underwear or thongs. At night, if you can, sleep without underwear at all. Let your skin breath and be free of all restriction.
I first noticed this condition on my labia about 10 years ago; this was before I had engaged in any sexual activity. A couple of the blemishes are raised, circular, shiny, black bumps; others are simply tiny black dots. I finally talked to the gyno about it today. The gyno said they are varicose veins and are harmless. He said there's no way to remove them in his office. (If it were a wart or a mole, he would have been able to cut or burn it off.) Like the other posters on page 1 of the thread were advised, he told me that the only way to remove them is to visit a dermatologist who has a laser for treating varicose veins.
He said that insurance most likely won't cover it since it's a cosmetic issue. But it makes me feel self-concious, as if I have a disease. I know that if I were uneducated about the condition, and I saw it on a potential partner, I would be very nervous.
Also, I feel weird about asking the dermatologist to treat that area. My gyno suggested a derm in his building, and he said I could ask her if she'd be willing to do it. Even though she's been in practice a long time, and has probably seen everything by now, I don't know how many times she's had to go "down there" with a laser.

Hello all,
Just been trying to find a reason for my (dry, i've tried cutting open!) blood blisters. On my external labia for years and none of the medics have ever commented. I strongly suspect it was from activities like Cycling etc up to 30yrs of age (learnt to drive then!!). Possible friction, pulling the hairs wrong direction maybe?? :-| Wasn't even a rampant shagger, more's the pity.................
No itch, smell, pain so just slightly self concious in the Doc's stirrups XD
If in doubt tho girls check them out, don't be embarressed, women aren't all air brushed and porn star style neatness!! o.O

I had painful blood blisters. My dermatologist cauterized them. She numbed them first and that shot stung. These are cause by friction of panties or bathing suits and regular skin bacteria. UGH
I have had these same things for as long as I remember. Some small some bg and they seem to multiply over time. I have had them looked at many times. The Doc's have al said they are like vericose veigns. From pressure on the labia, like being overweight, cycling, sitting all day and stuff like that. The skin of the vagina is very thin and full of arteries so they sometimes create little bulges is the arteries squeeze through the skin layer. Only option is lazer procedures. I just try to be aware of pressure.
Okay, i am 16 i went to the gyno and got put on antibiotics for a bacterial infection, i got off the meds and got a SEVER yeast infection. I have to take a pill, just one, and a inserted cream, my issue is i was taking a shower tonight and felt this huge swollen spot, it hurt really bad, so obviously i looked at it. It looks like a HUGE blood blister. I know that i dont have an std because my boyfriend i were each others first and we have been together a year and half and he just isnt that kind of person, and i was at the gyno today and was tested the last time i went. I developed this today and im freaking out!!!! I dont even want t move because im scared its going to pop!!! What do i do? My mom says i should just wait it out and see if it goes away, i say i need an EMERGENCY gyno appintment!!!!! Please tell me if you have these and what you did. I could really use the advice ASAP!!! o.O o.O o.O o.O o.O o.O
Hi all,
I have the exact same thing, they are not painful but sometimes feel hard, but they are only small in size and are always in the same spot, and the same amount. They occured just after I had my first son. I went to the Doc, he gave me an anti fungal because he wasnt sure what it was.
Later found out that it is called Angiokeratoma, and is pretty much exactly what it looks like, a blood blister. Theres nothing you can do about it, and they probably wont go away, but theyre not contagious, just ugly.

Hi everyone! FYI - my GYN has tested me 3 times convinced I had herpes and each time it was negative - I wish more docs would investigate things more before they just assume we have STDs!!!
i have the same thing. im 18 n i havent had one in about a couple years. i thought it was herpes but the blister is soft alil bleeding once squeezed and alil yellowish liquid. herpes bumps have a nasty crust over them. i thought it was herpes after havin unprotected sex but i recently got tested and im clean but i will b gettin tested again in about 2 months. its very important to b aware of your body. its just looks gross. i didnt want my boyfriend to say its herpes lol. its embarrassing!!!!! HOW DO I MAKE THE SWELLING GO DOWN!!!!!
I have these too. Mine look as if they are a few layers of skin down, but my gyno said it was just friction and not drying well enough after showering. Mine tend to move, they are usually on the bikini line, but recently I've had a few closer to my labia. They don't hurt, they just aren't pretty. I wish I knew how to not make them appear.
I figured out why I was getting my vaginal blisters. I was getting them for wearing underwear that was slightly too tight which caused friction. I am not sure about other women but that is something to consider as a factor. :-)
