Im on the 8th month of recovery and its the same thing. Constantly sweaty a*ss, and some minor leakage after bm's that thankfully doesnt have any odor but after each bm i NEED TO WASH MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. If I dont then its guaranteed Ill had some cr*ap on the underwear. Also I AVOID taking a bm everyday, if I do, its guaranteed there also be some mild bleeding however if I dont, theres none. No idea if this still happens to you? Would like to know. It sucks. Its almost an year since I was operated so I want to go to the doctor again.
Makes me feel the surgery wasnt worth it. Not having the roid hanging out its nice (I had a pretty big one) but all these other things that keep happening are annoying.

Hello, same person you replied here.
Its almost an year now and I still have bleeding/leakage issues after each bm. Last trip to the bathroom water was red. Ill probably go see the doctor next year. Was your prolapsed anus a problem that happened with the hemorrhoid surgery? I'm afraid I have new roids down there... Also it seems my bladder is always full these last days I have bm lately. I went to urinate like 4 times in a space of 3 hours, and not drinking that much water in between, dont know if anyone is having this or If im paying too much attention to that.
But yeah, I kinda regret the surgery. The leakage is super annoying and I dont want to wear pads again. If in a year it didnt stop then something is wrong.

Fecal leakage will stop if you cut down on the quantity of food you take. Include oats in your diet. You should be alright in a month.
I am 9 days post surgery of several internal hemorrhoids, and one external. Wish I could say more, but the doc after the surgery seemed to not want to talk.
Anyway, prior to the surgery, any time I had a BM, leakage would follow for several hours. Manly blood. At times while taking a BM, I would have to wait until the blood stopped flowing. The only way I survived it was when I was sure no more blood and wiped, I would place several folds of TP in between my butt cheeks covering the anus area. Most of the time, but not all, it would stop and I could get rid of the TP after several hours. Sometimes needing a new one. Took a long time to get use to it.
I am still at home, and the normal routine is after the BM, jump into the shower to clean up. This has greatly reduced the feeling of "diaper" rash that I may have had. I still have what feels like irritation and burning in the anus area, but better now. After the shower, I do the TP routine to capture the leakage which still includes blood, the yellow stuff, and some fecal. Unfortunately I do a lot of sitting, so not sure how that is helping.
Hopefully this will go away in several months, although one doc I talked to said up to a year.
Can we say fun? NOT

To be honest I am deeply regret in doing this operation. Well it still just the 11th days after the surgery but the fecal leakage is really annoying.
Wish I can go back to time when I can simply just push "everything" back after each BM and enjoy my days.

5 years still leaking
I don’t believe it CAN be fixed. I read that in 5% of cases after a hemorroidectomy, a nerve is cut that controls feeling if poop is down there and evacuation. I had a hemorroidectomy a little over 7 years ago and especially notice this issue when on stool softeners like Colace and Miralax (which I am on after having just had surgery on a Rectal prolapse). Believe me, if I’m wrong about this, I’d be ecstatic! I’m hoping for a cure, too.
I've had three haemorrhoid operations, my most recent one being Dec 2017, my new surgeon made a suggestion and it's working well for me. instead of metamucil or any laxative, he recommended replacing that with yoghurt (4 -5 tablespoons) and having with or after every meal.
Still have some leakage but the 4 x 4 gauze rolled up into a small tube and placed between the cheeks works well. Try as well sitting in a warm bath(not hot) with 2 or 3 capfuls of povidone iodine (salt also works but too much can burn). Splash some cold water from the tap after the bath.

i had the surgery about 7 years ago and last week i started leaking went and bought soluble fiber caps and been taking it for 4 days and leaking have stop
The way I see it, doesn't really seem to be anyone coming back and saying "still happening". So no news has to be good news. As my wife said, people only look this stuff up when they're down and things aren't good. =)
just had this surgery on the 3rd of april 2018. its been 11 days. im still taking a oxycodone for pain. my bowel movements were non existent without magnesium citrate at first. then by day 6 i was straining to get any bowels out. This surgery is pretty effed up. tje pain is horrible to where u need opiates, but the opiates constipate your sh*t which leads to pushing during bowels whichbis whatbthe doctors tell you exactly not to do. i did notice one of the hemmeroids popped out but it goes back in on its own no problem and stays in so its way more manageable. Its not perfect but still a relief. Blood is still ongoing, i actually saw an internal hemmeroid fall out followed by about a tablespoon of blood then some gnarly leakage for a day. Speaking of which, im dealing with as i type this. Honestly im just counting my blessings. its not so bad.. the leakage sucks but im overall ok and healthy. My bowels now are returning to normal little by little. this surgery has actually forced me to have a much better diet so im greatful for that. My GI doc always told me to stop consuming stuff that caused flareups and i never took it 100% serious up until now. Once the pain has subsided im going to start doing kegals regularly to tighten my butt to maybe stop the leakage. i dont know....i guess im just being hopefull. Another indirect concern im having is the amount of opiates ive consumed during all of this. i scared of the withdrawl period, been there done that and its no fun. I think the inside of my anus must be pretty swollen still because it hurts like a mofo to pass stool and i have to push extra hard to pass gass. Anyway, i know this thread is old but if anyone sees this and has been through this or is going theough this, i would really appreciate ANY words. any support would be greatly appreciated!
People have been saying they've been leaking for up to 30 years. That would seem to be fairly consistent with "still happening" in my books. I get your point though.
I'm 4 days into it and S#$%'ing myself (pun entirely intended).
Can a few people write to say their seepage stopped? I'm really annoyed at the doctors, they gave me no warning at all about this. I had to beg to get a medical certificate over 2 days, so thought it must've been a fairly straightforward recovery.

I had the op 4 weeks ago and while the pain has gone the leakage has continued and I have to wear pads which makes work interesting! Got appointment with surgeon next week but it’s really getting me down. I think everyone heals at different speeds so hopefully you’ll recover soon.
