I am several YEARS post hemorrhoid surgery and still have no control over what's comes out of my anus. If I have too soft stool, it's comes out before I can get to restroom. I hated this !!

I had leakage for about 2 months. I put a bit of gauze between my buttcheeks and it blocked it from soiling my underwear. I also used baby powder to manage the irritation.
My doctor told me to exercise my anus everyday by clenching a specific muscle 10 seconds at a time. Its the same muscle you use when you force yourself to stop mid pee, you should feel your anus close too. I did the exercise several times per day whenever I had time.
The leakage has gone down significantly. I still get a tiny bit dirty between my buttcheeks, but it never reaches my underwear, and I no longer use the gauze. So it can get better if you take care of yourself.
But I have also read that in certain cases a second surgery mught be necessary to reconstruct the muscle system.
I wish you all the best.

I'm 1 year 2 months after hemorrhoidectomy and I still have leakage, not fecal, just moisture. It's a pretty distinct odor. I wear pads everyday (plus two pairs of underwear, I'm paranoid). I'm 50 years old, 5'11", 155 lbs, work out everyday. I'm not sure what to do. I guess this is life now. Sometimes at home during the weekends when I feel like everything is "tight and inside" (for lack of a better description), I won't wear pads, but absolutely everyday at work.

Yes! I am 8 days post surgery and I have diaper rash! Wasn’t sure if it was from (1) using toilet wipes, (2) leakage, (3) blood, (4) menopausal night sweats, (5) wearing pads for 8 days, (6) all the above. Does it go away? I feel gross. And it hurts.
