sandra...is your burning upon activity...walking, folding clothes, fixing hair, carrying groceries? I have had it for 30 yrs... I was dxed with Fibromyalgia but have never talked to anyone that has an actual BURNING in the muscles like I do....
I am supposed to see a nuerologist tomorrow...but I feel like it's all a waste of money...because I have seen dozens of Drs who don't find anything serious. I have a positive ANA which is a sign of an auto immune disease. But nothing else goes with it to prove it's an auto immune. So they say Fibro...

Wow, I feel for everyone on here with these symptoms. I've had them all! However, I recently put myself in the care of an Ayurveda specialist who immediately told me to remove all wheat, gluten and soy from my diet. It takes three months to thoroughly clear these from your system but already I feel better. Less achiness, pain, etc. It's not an easy way to eat but so far it's worth it! Gluten sensitivity can cause all sorts of havoc in the body and cause an inflammatory response that will lead to thyroid burnout and aubsequent things like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. I should mention that I have been through huge numbers of blood tests, all of which my doctors said were normal. As far as they are concerned I am the picture of health. Hope this helps those of you on here who are suffering!!! Aloha!

STOP DRINKING Fluoridated water. And go vegetarian with no dairy! I'm telling you it worked for me permanently. Fish have lots of mercury and fluoride too. Fluoride is a poison....  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***

and large amounts of foreign protein like meat can cause gout and gout can cause joint and leg pain even if its mild and doesn't show on a test at the doctor. Get your proteins from whole grain carbos mixed with beans and veggies, greens. Limit fat intake to 20-30 grams a day and make those include a little oil with dinner, or some nuts for a snack. It worked wonders for me! I can even think better. even my sex drive has gotten ten times better and im 40 and could care less about sex. It also helped diminish my thyroid problems by avoiding

I came across this blog while researching my leg pain and tiredness and saw many of you have fibromyalsia without relief.  My cousin recently found great relief with a Rx for Neurontin which was recommended to her.  After discussing it with her Dr., they are giving it a try and so far so good!  Good luck to all of  you!

My mother has had the same exact symptoms for years.Doctor after doctor could not find anything wrong with her. I had been telling her for years that it is something she is ingesting. She got to the point of having to go to a nursing home because she became wheelchair bound. Not until recently did she start taking my advice and cut out any foods with aspartame,Acesulfame, MSG and all "diet products". She has also been taking 250mg of Taurine a day for the past week. She finally has some movement in her legs again and the "heaviness" in her legs is leaving. I don't know if this will work for you but it is definitely worth trying to detoxify your body.

It sounds like you might have RSD or CRPS. Find a good Pain Management Doctor fast. The swollen blue (any discoloration I think) extremities and burn pain all point to it. The stiffness could also be; but I think it's more limited range of motion in RSD. Either way, find that dr. fast. And if he/she doesn't give some sort of immediate help, find someone else fast! I went through somthing similar to you, and only now, after 20+ months, have I found a good dr. who'll help me with the pain. (If you're in the northern NJ area, his name is Andrew Kaufman, MD. He's at Overlook in Summit, NJ and in Newark. Good luck and God Bless.

I am a male off 66 yrs old and for the past 4 years I have been having exactly the same issues with my legs as you describe....my legs are tired, ache, and muscles (especially calf muscles) are painful when walking and going up stairs is a chore, and getting OUT of a chair is difficult and done very slowly; I have to ease myself down into a chair very slowly, and at the end I just plop down into the chair. Legs are so stiff and tight that putting my socks on is difficult; and lacing my shoes.

Since October 2007, I have had this diabiliting pain in all my extremities, hips, and neck. It started out that my hands and feet would get really swollen and I was extremely exhausted. I could only stay awake for a couple hours at a time. This went on for 4 months, and I saw 3 different doctors. They all kept telling me I had the flu because they could not find anything else. I went to a joint specialist who said that my joints weren't swollen so they didn't think it was arthritis.

At one point my feet were swollen and blue and my hands were so stiff I couldn't straighten them out. The nurse told me I was FAKING it!!!!! I could have killed her! For a couple of months I really tried to take it easy. I quit of my my jobs and stopped doing anything.

This summer I had the pain on and off again. About two weeks ago the pain has come back and very severely. I can not lift my arms to do anything, even for a second, without my muscles burning. My hands and feet are swollen and just throb with pain. Yesterday it felt like I was walking with 30 lbs weights hanging off my arms and legs. In the morning I am so stiff I can barely get out of bed without laying there for at least 45 minutes.

I am 20 years old, and now have ceased all physical activity because of the pain. I am beginning to lose weight though because I can barely move and am too tired to eat. No amount of caffeine can get me awake.

I also have acid reflux so I am limited to the type of pain killers I can take without having stomach problems.

HELP!!!! Any suggestions?
