Lexapro and sweating

I have been searching for any information on Lexapro. What I am concerned about is the night sweats I am having. I am taking 20mg, for 6 months and I experience night sweats every night. Last night I got up and realized my t-shirt was drenched. I usually just go back to sleep, but last night scared me. If anyone else experiences this from Lexapro please let me know. I am just about to lose all faith in anti-anxiety. I mean lexapro might be doing me more harm than good.

I've been on escitalopram for 11 months and during the last 6 months I've had night sweats off and on. It isn't a massive deal to me to get up and change t-shirt as I am far happier than I was before.

Are you saying it's better to take the medication before bedtime or better not to take it at this time, in order to help decrease the nightsweats?
I've been on lexapro for about 7 months and just started getting the exact same symptoms!! Really hot in the middle of the night and sweating and the drink lots of water ! Thanks for sharing !!!
I have been on Lexapro for about 6 months. I have just started having night sweats for the last 2 weeks, every night. I found your comments while searching for an answer. I just had a physical and everything checked out perfect except for cholesterol. I do believe the Lexapro is causing the night sweats.
Definitely think it's lexapro causing night sweats. I just found this thread but I started taking it a couple months ago and ive has them on and off. Noticeably sweating
Yes, I'm on Lexapro (Escitalopram) and I have night sweats just about every night, mostly neck up, hair, pillow drenched. No way around it from what I hear. I just have to wash my pillows, sheets more often but I'm able to make do. Didn't like Zoloft due to the side effects from being off of it. Escitalopram is much more manageable for me.
Same here.Thought menopause also but now convinced lexapro
Did the sweats continue after you stopped taking Lexapro? If so, for how long? I had a bad reaction to the drug and only took it for a few days, but two months later I'm still having occasional night sweats.
For me, the night sweats continued for a little bit but not as bad. Then I returned to a normal cycle of having night sweats occasionally. But I go through that occasionally anyway. I'm going to go on a light dosage of birth control pills to level off my hormones and mitigate the night sweats.
Just started taking Lexapro about 2 weeks ago for anxiety. I have never been an anxious person until a few weeks ago when I had nearly 2 weeks straight of shakiness and flushed skin... actually just the opposite, all my life I have been an extrovert and stage performer musically and acting. However after blood work came back fine it was decidedly severe panic attacks. There is a tremendous amount of stress in my life right now and I just wanted the feelings to go away. So I started Lexapro 10mg. I dont like taking any medicines usually but I decided to try the lowest dose. I admittedly feel alot better and am able to function on a daily basis thank the lord, cuz I thought I was dying.... i think I would be perfect at 20mg but 10mg has given me my life back and thats all I wanted...... at any rate, regarding night sweats.... I find myself dealing with night sweats as a side effect. Which has been a minimal trade off for my feeling better. I just change my clothes (sometimes twice a night) and go back to sleep. Being able to wake up and not feel like I'm go i going to burst into flames is worth having to do extra laundry. Oh one other positive side effect for me is as a result of not freaking out all day my bowel habits have improved greatly.
Id rather have night sweats than day sweats. I take it before bed to sleep through initial affects. I have noticed if i stay up longer than a couple hours after taking it i get a bit of insomnia, which I assume would just make me more productive during the day and possibly negate night sweats. But I prefer feeling level during the day.
My palms, feet and armpits are constantly SOAKED! I sleep with the ac on and its winter. I have also been having crazy dreams but my anxiety feels better so ill deal.
I have been prescribed Lexapro for about ten years now, my night sweats didn't start until I moved away from home. Naturally my doctor told me that stress can also cause night sweats. (I haven't truly been stressed or anxious since I've been on medication) so I dismissed that option. Ive noticed that the older I get the worse my night sweats become. Sometimes I have to change clothes in the middle of the night from being drinched. (I only sleep in a tshirt tank & underwear) I keep it what feels like below freezing in the house especially at night with the ceiling fan & a box fam going also! It's getting to the point where I'm insecure about sleeping with my boyfriend. Y'all, my bed & clothesare soaking wet an hour or two into the night. ITS EMBARRASING! Has anyone found a solution or anything that has helped? Other than not taking meds.
