I also have had diabetes since I was 18 months old in 1950. I treat wounds quickly and exercise daily. Also eat lots of fruit (in moderation) but every day. I use cinnamon ( mixed with coffee ) every day and have no eye problems or medical issues. You could try massaging your arms and legs to improve circulation, know one person who was going to lose leg but used massage ( for hours a day ) and leg healed. good luck and wish you well.

Hi
I am 70 years of age and have had Type 1 for 60 years. I have had no sight, eye or limb problems and although my sugars can rise and fall (as with most diabetics) it is just a case of taking care of yourself, doing regular blood tests and if needed doing a small injection to compensate for any high results. I'm married, have had 2 children (both normal births) and 4 grandchildren, am reasonably active and am going to live hopefully for a very long time. Diabetes is a way of life and you have to be aware all the time of what you are eating, drinking or doing, that way you can live a long and happy life as I have done.

i was diagnosed at 35...so lots of years this disease went untreated and I could not get the numbers under control....mostly in the 20 to 39 area....ya and here in Canada the good range is 5 to 10...all drs said was we don't know why your not in a coma....no help no trying things....until I found out about the variety of insulins available....everyone was pushing lantus for my basil insulin...I finally went out on my own and tried levemier and once I found novolin nph everything clicked and numbers fell more inline...something about it being more closely fashioned to human insulin...I would say you know how things are working and don't let a dr pigeon hole you into one thing...it is such an individual disease and you should try different options to find the combination of basil and fast acting insulin that works for you

Your the only fool for even considering to contradict the fact that diabetics inevitably have shorter lifespans. Being a Type 1 diabetic myself for about 8 years now, i am experiencing vision loss, cognitive decline ect. This is probably due to my HBA1C being above the average, but even within healthy and the most controlled of patients, complications are inevitable. An example would be something such as DEB (Dead In Bed), an unexplained phenomenon in healthy/unhealthy type 1 diabetics. Where they go to sleep with blood glucose levels perfectly normal and correct administration of night insulin and they are found the next morning in their beds, lifeless.

Hmph. You appear to be an ignorant, rebellious, and irrational who seems to emphasise on the fact that diabetes is HAAARRRRD!. I've had diabetes ever since i was 7 and i had to go through with it for almost my whole life. You can control what you do, so there is no excuse for having a high HBA1C or High Blood sugar levels. Power is not will, it is the phenomenon of physically making things happen.
