For a while now I have had a lightheaded feeling ater laughing hard. I was wondering is this normal? Or should I see what's wrong?

If i am wih my friends we are all happy and we laugh too much i feel dizzy and headache is this normal?
I have been suffering with this for years. When I laugh hard I will blackout. I get lightheaded and try to stop then. It is light blood rushes up the back of my head and I faint after this major migraines. I just do not have a clue what it is..
Omg this happens to me all the time I laugh my body gets limp but tonight I actually pass out..why is this happening?
I totally agree with you, to suggest this condition is caused by AF is like saying I have diabetes because I am fat. The Physiological link is there but no more. I laughed when I read the original post, there are several causes of the condition including sinus and inner ear problems as well as hypotension and vascular abnormalities, all need to be ruled in or out before a diagnosis is made. In other words....if you're worried don't take the advice of an armchair practitioner visit your GP/Doctor
Sarcoidosis is not an obstructive lung disease, it's a restrictive lung disease and I doubt it may have something to do with the atrial fibrillation. If anything it just means it's harder for you to get more oxygen which is why you might get lightheaded while laughing. Sorry bud.
Not true AF does not cause you to pass out when laughing, maybe a vasovagal response
PJan 2, 2014 - This is caused by insufficient blood flow to the brain. More specifically, it is when the brain does not recieve enough oxygen. When the brain doesn't get enough oxygen, it is thrown into a sort of panic mode and it shuts down, causing you to lose conciousness, or in your case to feel dizzy.
I know that this post is rather old however I need to speak more on this. I have experienced heart failure at the age of 19, over the years I have gotten its been years since then. Now I'm suffering with this. I can't laugh hard either without the strongest feeling of faint and weakness. I become very hot and dizzy please help
This has happen to me recently the headaches and all that after laughing but tonight, I nearly passed out I couldn't stand on my legs for a couple of seconds.
Read this fro Wiki. The only other site I have found that mentions it is Healdove a faith based site. Laughter-induced syncope Laughter-induced syncope is an unusual but recognized form of situational syncope (fainting) likely to have a similar pathophysiological origin to tussive syncope. One reported case occurred while a patient was watching the television show Seinfeld, and was given the name Seinfeld syncope. There are few case reports of this syndrome in the literature. Patients, as in this case, might present initially to the ED, and laughter should be considered among the numerous differentials for syncope. Laughter-induced syncope should not be confused with cataplexy, a sudden loss of muscle tone triggered by strong emotions, particularly laughter. Unlike syncope, there is no loss of consciousness in cataplexy, which affects some sufferers of narcolepsy. To date there have been few cases of laughter-induced syncope documented in medical literature  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
Very informative Thank you!! This is scary. I have been doing this now too!! Seeing white patches, and feeling like I am going to just pass out.
Wow... so weird...this happens to me too..i was laughing while I was driving and began to feel dizzy ..so I stopped laughing... I didn't want to alarm anyone for my Dad had just gone thru a heart procedure...but now I know I should go get it checked... funny when I think of it my Doc just sent me for Thyroid test....but they can't see me til 2/2017 is that too long to wait!
Thank you to whoever contributed this... I first notice this about a month ago and have since became very aware of my light headedness right after I laugh quite hard. From what I deduce here about anti coagulants, I might request my physician to place me on aspirin for ease of blood flow to the heart.
Thank you so much for the information. You have pointed me in the right direction and I am truly thankful. I told my Dr. what was going on with me and he dismissed it as nothing. I now know what to tell him and get this rectified.
Thank you for taking the time to post this. This started about 3 months ago, I've had around 5 scary episodes and the last one was during a movie. I started laughing hard and started to get up and move away, thinking I could get away and stop laughing. It was then my fience noticed my head bobbing back and forth and I noticed I had lost bodiely functions and wet myself. This is real scary and now embarrassing. I've had an EKG, and wore a heart monitor for 24 hrs. All came back fine. My cholesterol is real high 264 and they out me in meds. I've started a diet and have lost 9 lbs. but apparently it's not helping. Going back to Dr Monday and have him check for AF. Thank you.
