Firstly sorry if its already been asked about similar topics, but hoping for some solutions from people with updated/relevant info.

So its been 2 years now since I first had my surgery, shown here of what was done: http://i.imgur.com/RBfwQUA.png

After it was done, recovery was hard. I was on crutches for about 8 months while slowly changing from plaster cast to a camboot. I also only saw a doctor(not the one who operated on me) once when changing casts who advised me to see a physio in x amount of weeks during the 8 month recovery. I started seeing the physio who while expensive(not sure if expensive other places, but Australian here) was worthwile as I started to get the required muscle back into my leg. It's been about 2 months now from which the physio signed me off as being healthy enough to not need his services.

Now onto what I wanted to ask, my screws/plate are still in place and from what my physio has said will always cause me pain. The pain is not usually where the screw, but along the first metatarsal between the base of the phalax and the head.

I also sometimes feel pain along where my screw/plate are and need to walk a certain way for it to not hurt as much.

Would removing the screws get rid of the pain altogether?, as my physio said it won't but I guess it doesn't help to ask. This pain is a menance daily and something that continually limits what I do. I get by, by taking Panadol Osteo 2 tablets a day and really don't want to rely on them for my whole life as I'm only 23. Looking for shoes is a hassle, as I'm limited to runners because of the cushioning it provides, I also have custom orthotics which do provide some help but not all that much despite the price I paid them, and of which I still a student :/.

Anyway thanks for reading, and hopefully someone can come along with some helpful insight.

BUMP: Hoping for replies.
