I too am very frustrated that I have actually had lighter but longer periods since having the Mirana for over a year! My GYN basically said I am one of the unlucky small percentage of women this happens to!

On year 6. Periods still long but less cramping. About 10 days but been a little longer since I got the new one inserted this year (10-12days). I generally comes every 28 days and I know about week before its. I have PMS now which I didn't have before this. I think any contraceptive has its downside but at least on this, I know I won't get pregnant. I call it a win

Hi I have the Mirena IUD. And my periods last up to 3 week's I don't bleed for only a week out of the mouth but I still spot I olny have my iud in for 4 mouths. Plus I get really bad sharp pain on my righ tand it is way worst then giving birth. Had any one ESL feeling this way?!?

I got mine 3 weeks ago and my period has lasted 12 days so far and still no end. It's annoying. I wanna have sex but I dont want to tel my partner im bleeding! That is not sexy. It's really light but it's still there.

Same exact thing here! I have had my period for 9 days and I only got my IUD 16 days ago. It's driving me insane, my friends have one and say this happened to them only the first time they got their period about the IUD. I'm hopeful this will not happen again.

I just got my Mirena put in a couple weeks ago. My first period has been like you described, light at night, no bleeding in morning, then full on a couple hours after I wake up!! How did yours play out? Get any better, worse? How long did yours last after the first period? This is getting annoying!!

I got mine in Sept and my periods are all still heavy!! And can last 2 or more weeks .Seem like if Im lucky I canget a week or so with no bleedng so far I hate it!!!! Period and spotting it feels all the time
