Hi, iv had a vaginal problem for almost a year now. I tested positive for clamydia after coming out of a long term relationship. We had sexual intercourse very often with no problems, twice a day every day (if not more). When i found out i had clamydia i had already entered a new relationship so we both got treated and made him take an STD test which was negative to all STDs. But at the begining of this relationship i began to find that i could continue with sexual intercourse as long as i used to, it began to get painful which was very unusual. After a while, it began to get worse until it was too painful for him to even enter his penis. I went to my GP and gave me another STD (and my partner) test which tested negative for all STDs. My GP then transfered me to a sexual health specialist. After examining me, i was diagnosed with vulvadynia and said that my problem was psychological and that my vagina was not producing enough lubrication which was making it painful. She said that i had vulvadynia from worrying too much about contracting clamydia as i did before and that the only way to cure it was to stop worrying and to use perscribed lubricants. I visited this doctor every 8 weeks. My problem seemed to get better a little bit for a short period and then come back bad again. Recently i have been getting reoccuring yeast infections and cystitus which also makes sex painful. So i have been perscribed lots f creams and antibiotics. My problem just doesn't seem to be getting better. I am still with my partner and we hardly have a sex life. I just want this problem to go away and have my old sex life back as it is making me depressed and very stressed. Im also starting to worry that this problem could get worse and make me infertile? Do you have any idea what this problem is or how to get rid of it?
Stress can make a woman more susceptible to recurrent vaginal yeast infections and cystitis. Cranberry juice may be beneficial for your cystitis. Massage therapy can help relieve stress. I suggest you and your partner give each other relaxation massages prior to intercourse.
